NS$4.17/min per minute(11)MarketplacesNeil Soni • Washington D.C. Metro AreaCreated 10 years ago in Industries / MarketplacesI've built and scaled several marketplaces. The hardest thing about a marketplace is that you have to build supply and demand simultaneously. The best analogy I've heard for this is that building a marketplace is like trying to move a couch by yourself. You have to move one side forward, then the other when it's too far forward. I'll show you how to do that so you can keep moving your marketplace forward. Most people pay attention only to vanity metrics like traffic, signups, etc. I'll show you why those don't matter. I'll also help with identifying and tracking your key metric(s) to ensure you're actually growing.Neil Soni Washington D.C. Metro Area(11)

Prior to Yahoo's acquisition of RightMedia I lead the integration of RightMedia's tech into Yahoo's ad stack transforming a largely under-monetized asset (pre-emptable inventory as it was called) into an **Engine of Growth**. Following the acquisition of RightMedia and BlueLithium I managed the roll out of the Yahoo Direct Response product across 10 countries (including Italy, Spain, UK, France, Germany). JL$8.33/min per minute(1)Marketplaces and 2-Sided Business ModelsJeff LaPorte • Vancouver, British ColumbiaCreated 11 years ago in Industries / MarketplacesI love working on marketplaces because they often help to push aside the worst actors in the market that are not creating value! I've observed that where the majority of marketplace startups run into issues is in **not dealing head-on with the chicken-egg problem inherent in 2-sided businesses**. Solving this issue for a marketplace is the single most important task in the early stages. I've helped startups solve this in the past through use-case analysis, creative strategies of sourcing inventory backfill, and more.Jeff LaPorte Vancouver, British Columbia(1)

While collaborative consumption has huge upside for many people, there are certain social, economic, and political consequences that will cause upheaval. I've devoted a significant amount of time to thinking about how this force will reshape everything.Leigh Drogen New York, New York(2)
