Sunil Pai is a VC at DFJ. Since 1985, DFJ's core funds have raised $4 billion, which been deployed in more than 300 portfolio investments, including Baidu, Box, Foursquare, Skype, SolarCity, SpaceX, Tesla Motors, Twitter, Tumblr and Yammer. DFJ invests in emerging markets including consumer, enterprise, and disruptive technologies.
Prior to joining DFJ, Sunil worked at Deloitte Consulting's San Francisco office as part of the Technology Strategy & Architecture division. There, he focused on advising enterprise clients on cloud computing, mobility, and social business strategies. Sunil held a product management role previously at Infosys in Bangalore, India. He also worked at Howcast, an online video content distribution platform startup based in San Francisco.
Sunil graduated from the University of California - Berkeley with a BA and certificate in entrepreneurship and technology. While at Berkeley, he served as a researcher for the Haas School of Business, studying corporate innovation and performance outcomes of publicly traded firms in the high-tech sector. Sunil was also a four-year member of the top ranked Berkeley debate team and won the California state debate championship.
