Summary
Work experience encompasses thirty plus years of accomplishments in a variety of senior management positions in manufacturing organizations. Eighteen of those years were spent in South East Asia. Industries included, machining, semiconductor, commercial, and military electronics. In addition worked a number years with an international consulting firm. The companies for which I worked ranged in size from “startup” to over a billion in sales.

Work History
Began working as an Industrial Engineer at FMC Ordnance Division in San Jose California. Remained there for about ten years. In the course of my work, designed and implemented a shop floor scheduling system and became Production Control and MIS Manager.
Soon after completion of my MBA degree in 1969, obtained at night over seven years. Joined Fairchild Semiconductor as Far East Materiel Manager stationed in Hong Kong. Responsible for all Production Control, Inventory Planning and Control, and Logistics for Hong Kong, Korea, and Okinawa plants. Later became the Director of Material for Fairchild Opto-electronics and Microwave Division in Palo Alto California.
Joined ITT Semiconductor-Taiwan in 1973. Responsibilities included Industrial Engineering, Purchasing, Production and Inventory Control, Plant Maintenance, Logistics, and Import Export functions, and was the principle interface with the Taiwan Government’s Ministry of Finance.
In 1976 became National Semiconductor Hong Kong General Manager . This site was the world wide production planning, test, finish, and distribution center for all of National’s transistor and linear product lines, as well as the Sales and Marketing center for Asia. Drove cost/ quality improvement to be equal to or better than Japanese product. By increasing productivity 10X
In 1979 CEO of Pacific Electro-Dynamics 1979. PED designed, developed and manufactured Mil-Spec electronics for the “airframe” industry. Negotiated the sale of the company to Rockor and grew the company from four million in sales to eighteen million.
1988 Rejoined National Semiconductor as Group Director Materiel for POS division and later was Far East Program Manager in Hong Kong. Eventually joined a Venture Capital Group in Hong Kong where I was COO and CEO of two companies in their portfolio - “turned” both companies to profitability.
1990 to 2001 - Consulting with the Thomas Group. Worked with manufacturing companies in USA, Europe, Brazil, ,Japan, Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia, Hong Kong and China developing improved business processes that more effectively serviced their financial and market objectives. Originally commuted out of San Francisco and in 1999 relocated to Singapore.
Took a short break from consulting 1995- 1997 as Director/General Manager Cyprus Semiconductor Thailand.
2001 - 2003 MD Asia for Mackie Designs identifying sources, evaluating their capabilities and co-coordinating the transfer of manufacturing from US and Italy to Asia.
