I am a constant learner of startup and early stage processes such as MVP, customer discovery, canvas, qualitative interviews and related. Was invited by Coursera to be a Business Model Canvas Mentor and have a great motivation to research and check the lean concepts beyond the surface — because we entrepreneurs know how painful is to do things like design thinking, canvas, customer discovery, MVP and other lean methods in the wrong way. I pay special attention to the psychological aspects that can add difficulties to the path in the startup development.
I am a generalist with a strong technical background and understanding of web technologies. Started programming at the age of 9 in 84 and entered a computer science bachelor program at University of Sao Paulo in Brazil when I was 18. In 1999 was invited to do an internship at Netscape communications moving to Silicon Valley. I specially love user interfaces and user experiences for consumer products. I think that many products find their engagement with users when we consider new user interface requirements — for example Whatsapp emerged out of a force that pushed it around the need for asynchronous chunks of audio being sent in a radio style favouring people in countries with bad data connection.
Areas of startup research and learning — MVP, Job to be Done, OKR, Design Thinking, Customer Discovery, Qualitative Interviews.
Books I study — Andy Grove High Output Management, Zero to One, Measure What Matters (OKR), Radical Focus (OKR), Value Proposition Design (Lean), The Startup Way (Lean, Innovation), Maslow on Management (Management, Psychology), Conscious Business (Culture), The Hard Things about Hard Things (Culture), How (Culture), Design Thinking (Innovation, Lean)
