Kathy Garland is an expert in personal brand creation. She has a unique talent in coaching and mentoring others in identifying their strengths and unique characteristics which set themselves apart from others. In this day and age, this concept could not be more important in order to survive in any business setting, whether it be in corporate or a small business. She has helped hundreds of individuals and leaders to distinguish themselves with the ability to know and sell their personal brand of service, helping them to market themselves in any position, situation or relationship. I enjoyed working with Kathy at GE when she delivered programs to the Women's Network and as my personal mentor.

Kathy is a brilliant visionary and strategist who thinks creatively and always has my best interest in mind. I've attended two of her annual leadership retreats for women and each time I leave feeling prepared for the future and know what I need to do to get there.

Kathy's ability to connect and draw out of her clients their best is one of the reasons I initially hired Kathy for business coaching. The fact that the results I've received have far exceeded my expectations is why I have continued to seek her expertise and enthusiastically recommend Kathy to others.

Kathy Garland answered:

Ask the team. What do they think is a good use of their time? No one likes to sit idle. If they were on a heavy schedule to meet the product launch, some downtime is useful to regenerate creativity, energy and focus. Have they documented all the processes used? Have you conducted a post-project review of what worked and what didn't and what could be improved next time?

These are some things for a temporary lull, however, the bigger question is how to engage your team when there isn't work to do. Can the team handle more projects?

Good luck!

Kathy Garland answered:

The best thing to do is to start with either who you are most passionate about working with or pick one that seems to be in demand and moving with the market. You may be falling into the "Shiny Bright Object" challenge, which distracts you from making any decisions because you have so many passions.

Write down all your ideas and prioritize according to what matches your expertise and has the best chance of bringing in revenue.

Good luck!
