Ed Welsh is an Atlanta based HR Executive and Coach with over 20 years of progressive experience in multiple industries and company sizes who currently serves as Partner & Chief People Officer at Atticus Franchise Group. Prior to joining Atticus Ed served as Chief People Officer at Farids Family of Companies (Edible Arrangements, Netsolace, Naranga, Berry Direct, BroadPeak).
Ed started his career at Home Box Office. He later spent time at Gap, Inc. and Ann Taylor, where he held various HR roles supporting both corporate functions (creative) as well as leading field HR.
Macy’s Merchandising Group hired Ed as Director HR, where he led the teams for their Private Label Brands as well as college recruitment for the product management program.
Ed was appointed SVP, HR for Burch Creative Capital, based in NYC. He led the strategy, design, implementation, and oversight of the HR functions for several brands as well as Burch Creative Capital family office and the Sourcing and Production company, based in Shanghai and Hong Kong, China. As a member of the company’s executive leadership team, he was responsible for implementing business initiatives through the HR Strategy. During his tenure, Ed also served as an HR advisory consultant to multiple portfolio brands.
Ed was VP, HR for Alex and Ani, where he was responsible for leading the initiatives tied to people and culture globally and served as a member of the company's Executive Leadership and was a member of the Board’s Compensation Committee.
Ed studied psychology at Fordham University, NY, is a Certified Gallup Strengths Coach, Certified Predictive Index Analyst and has completed Strategic HR Certifications from Cornell University’s School of Industrial & Labor Relations. He is a member SHRM and was a brand advisor for a privately held retail start-up based in NYC.
