MenuWhat are some typical structures for conferences that have multiple coaches/speakers selling from stage?
I'm a speaker and coach. I'm planning an event with some other speakers and coaches and we're looking at having a few different offers from each coach on stage.
I'm wondering how, as the organizer, I should structure the affiliate deal, or how we can all sell from stage in a way that is complementary and mutually beneficial. I'd love to learn what kind of structures other speakers/coaches have seen in the past.

Hmmm... Is this a free or low-cost conference? I ask because attendees typically don't like paying good money for a conference and then being pitched on one's own services.
If it's low cost and it's made known in advance there will be special offers, etc, then I guess that's okay. I've never seen an affiliate share in that respect. But I have seen coaches speaking either for free or a low fee in exchange for the ability to pitch.
If you're the organizer, an easy + effective structure is for each speaker to create affiliate links for their products which pay you commission.
Then during conference, links paying you commissions are referenced on written materials + in electronic materials like PDFs, transcripts, related blog content.
Another effective technique is to offer a discount when these links are used + say these links will only be good during conference + for a few days after.
Group discussions, Role Play, Debates.
Typical structures for conferences are “Common Reasons for Poor Performance” and the multiple speakers are selling the solution. Take an example. A group of employees comes to you for help as they lack the required capabilities. In this situation, the employee simply does not have the needed capabilities to perform the job. They might not have asked for help, or they might have asked but not received it for some reason.
Improved performance will not be possible unless you can help this group of employees to acquire the needed capabilities. You may need to arrange for training programs, one-on-one assistance from another employee, or dedicated time with you to help get them to the right place.

What are ways to start / launch a coaching program targeted to healthcare professionals (helping them grow their practice)?
Assuming you are qualified to create this kind of offering, I think you can safely determine that there is need for this service. I know many doctors who struggle with the business of their practice and could benefit from coaching. That being said, if you believe this is an area you want to devote years of your life to, I would consider the infrastructure that will be required to support your success. Over time, you're going to want to build out the following (or a version thereof): Creating your brand identity Building your website Developing your funnel to generate leads Developing your pricing model Inbound marketing strategy and execution Social media strategy and execution Sales strategy Long-form content creation for email capture Short-form content creation for traffic generation SEO for organic traffic Advertising for paid traffic Presentation planning and coaching Possibly a book I would recommend thinking about as much of this ahead of time as possible to give yourself the greatest chance for success.CM

How can I find my niche for consulting?
Hello, I like how you have identified your passion and understand who you want your target audience to be. I have sold technology solutions for 6+ years to entrepreneurs and business owners- a big part of the selling process requires value-adding, which can only be achieved by understanding the minds of your target audience. To find a niche, you need to start by asking yourself what kind of value you can bring to your specific target audience of entrepreneurs or business owners. Everyone has limited attention span these days and unless you can figure out what these people care about and how your coaching/consulting services can benefit them, it will be difficult to connect and add value for the entrepreneurs. In short, you should determine your niche by figuring out what these folks care about and then hone your craft around providing value for those individuals. Happy to get on a phone call if you want to talk about specifics. Best, KevinSH

How do I become a consultant?
STOP!!! DON'T DO IT. GO GET A REAL JOB!! PLEASE! You don't plan to be a consultant. You become a consultant because the experience and wisdom you have is so obvious that those around you are eager to pay you for your insight. It's a calling -- not a job. Giving your "business advice" to a startup is like telling a 2-year-old to go "poo poo in th potty" -- anyone can do it. You just have to be a little bit more sophisticated than a baby. To service people who have money (and who are serious about how they spend that money) you need to take you game to a whole new level. I suggest you intern or partner with an amazing consultant who does this already. Learn. Do the gritty work that no one else is wiling to do. Everyone is a coach. Right? Drink a beer on game day and you supposedly know more than than the dude on the sidelines with the clipboard. But is that "really" the case? Of course not... DON'T BE A COACH. BE A LEADER.DW

How to start a coaching business with little money?
Hi there. I am a small business strategy consultant, with loads of experience working with startups, like yours. What kind of coaching are you doing? Is it something you need to do in-person, or can it be done by coaching over the Internet or phone? The Internet is a fabulous way to do things at a low-cost. Not only to actually provide your service, but also to market it to a large audience. If your business is something you need to do in-person - then make sure you use the various low-cost options available to you online to get yourself a presence. There are tools, like wix.com, which will allow you to build a free website and give potential customers a way to find you and contact you. Also, if you are an expert in your field, make sure you are blogging and getting your information out to the public as frequently as possible. This will increase your ranking in search engines and make you appear like a true thought leader. If your coaching can be offered online, make use of free tools like Skype - and embed them within your website. You can take customer payments through Paypal and similar cheap online systems. There are many tricks to launching a low-cost business. Many depend on your specific requirements. Feel free to give me a call via this service if you want more information. Regards SimonSA
