The Pomodoro method has changed my life! Whenever I'm writing or working out a creative problem, it really helps me focus on just one thing at a time. It's a simple timer that breaks down your day into 25-minute chunks (with 5-minute breaks). I use the Tomato One app on Mac OS, but there are countless others. Check it out and let me know what you think. I'd be happy to walk you through it or give some more tips if you need them. Thanks!
I'd be happy to help. I work in several different fields at the same time (see www.lvonkraus.com for an overview).
The tools and tactics to use, and how to use them depends a lot on the specifics of your situation. Let me know if you'd like to discuss on a call,
best,
Lee
The key is to identify your areas of strength, as well as your areas of weakness. Once you have determined these, you can build an action plan for your time. Your time should ideally be spent on areas of your strengths, money makers, and activities that boost your health. Make a plan to outsource the rest. Build time blocks into your schedule and group similar tasks together. For example, I have "client days" where I see my clients, and "admin days" where I have specific tasks that I can do from home. I get similar tasks done together and can stay in my productive mode longer. What tasks can you begin to outsource right away?
I've realised time management is dependant on two things:
1) Energy
2) Organisation
Dip in any of these and your productivity drops.
*Tips*
- I'm a big fan of the Eisenhower matrix as a to-do list - tt helps me know where to start.
- I ensure my team minimise interruptions by doing training of effective communication - when to use email, chat & interruptions/calls.
- Master delegation - honestly the Eisenhower matrix will force you to do it.
I've got a visual representation of the Einsenhower matrix and tips on time management here:

If you need any help by all means drop me a PM, happy to help.
Thanks,

Looking to hire a partner to avoid burnout—should I hire within or outside?
Exciting times. When I read between the lines having faced a similar decision on more than one occasion, I see all the missed opportunities from having been too busy personally to be as effective as needed. The good news, there is but one weakest link in any system and that includes your business. Is it the lack of a talented partner? Perhaps. Is it a failure to delegate? More likely but not a given. Hiring is the most complex function in business and a wrong or misstep could be very expensive in time and money. I have hired over 500 people and helped organizations hire even more. It may not be obvious that I spent years in retail, most in men's fashion and in another life built several online businesses. I would be happy to learn more about your unique challenges and offer some insights from my more than 10,000 hours of experience at the front lines in each industry. Schedule 30 to 60 minutes at your convenience, but as you point out, the clock is ticking.JS

How can entrepreneurs deal with information overload?
Keep your head down and work on your own project. Stop being a spectator to what other people are up to. Ignore all the noise. Start unsubscribing from mailing lists. Delete your memberships at social media platforms, or at least stop logging in. Stop paying attention to Twitter feeds. Treat them like TV channels. Watching TV and following tweets is not entrepreneurship! Want to read? Read a book. Divide your email into critical and non-critical inboxes. Make yourself a rule not to check the optional inbox except on Friday evenings between 4 and 9 p.m. With any luck, you'll be enjoying life too much to bother. Friday nights are a good laboratory for testing those priorities. Force your inbox and twitter feeds to compete for attention with your significant other, and see who wins! Soon you'll recognize how unimportant that stuff is. Information overload is an excuse addicts make for their addiction. It's akin to compulsive rubbish hoarding or an all-day TV binge. Endlessly following the latest startups is no different from endlessly following celebrity gossip. Just because the people you read about are accomplishing things does not mean you are. If you have any ambition, then you can create something while ignoring what other people are doing and saying. A novelist or an inventor will keep busy on their own work to an almost hermit-like extent. If 100 people started throwing 100 objects toward you simultaneously in a hopelessly mismatched game of dodge ball, why would you be under any obligation to catch them all? Stop paying attention. Stop following. Lead! Do something!JP

What should an entrepreneur be spending his/her time on?
If I have to tell you only one thing: it is Distribution. Most of the entrepreneurs (including me at one point) are so obsessed with the product and adding new features to it. They completely overlooked the fact that Distributing the product is what play single most important role. Even over the quality of the product.JS

If a call is scheduled and the client does not show up for the call, are they charged?
Clarity's terms of service state that: "You (as a Seeker) may cancel an Appointment without penalty; provided, however, that you have not already initiated the call with the Expert via the Services. You (as an Expert) may cancel a scheduled Appointment without penalty at any time." I personally think that if the cancellation is done up to about 3-4 hours before, then it's reasonable not to charge, but anything less than that should come with a partial cancellation fee. I personally spend anywhere from 10-30 minutes preparing for a call in order to promise the most value for the caller. I don't expect to be paid for this time, but if the caller doesn't cancel and just doesn't show, there should be a cancellation fee. Alternatively, each user (including experts) should have 2 'no-shows' after which they get blocked. If it gives you any comfort, I know that the caller's 'Clarity Score' is negatively effected.AB
