I am a startup dealing in fashion apparel and shoe design.
I want to reach department stores like Macy's, Kohl's and Walmart. How do I go about doing this?
It will be very difficult to start with the unicorns.
Getting their attention will require time, much effort, lots of resources and most probably in-person meetings, (warm) intros especially if you are selling high-end products.
Sales cycles will be long, too.
Why don't you start with smaller shops?
Apart from every other benefit (closed sales, revenues etc), you will also get the "social proof" needed to then pitch your products to giants like Wallmart and Macy's.
Those companies receive lots of pitches and cooperation opportunities daily and they only go for the best deals.
Hope it makes sense for you.
If you need more help and advice on the above or B2B sales, in the E-Commerce sector, we can schedule a call.
Get into a showroom that has these connections. I'm with one in Los Angeles so I don't have to worry about sales. I have connections with a few that work with the majors. It will cost a min of 500 a month but that's the way to do it right. Just be aware of
Be cautious, as there are showrooms that don't produce results, and simply collect on monthly fees. I'd love to hear more about your product!
