MenuHow do I become the go-to market person for foreign startups entering my country?
If a foreign startup wants to enter my current home country's market, I would like to be the person to handle that startup's business development here. I would love to hear your experiences and advice in this area.

Show them how you will bring them customers.
Get your plan written down. Present it to them.
So many people are dreamers. You'll stand out merely by having your plan written down, and taking the action of getting in front of them.
Think about it from their perspective. What would they like in a local rep? What level of sales would they expect? How would they like to see you reach the marketplace?
If a physical product is involved, how will you transport, store and deliver it? Are their border issues? How will you overcome these if so?
Every decision maker has room for a person who has a definite plan. Don't be worried about size.
In my experience, you just contact them and offer your services. Otherwise, making yourself an authority worth noticing will take time and a business model on its own.
You are in sales, call and sell yourself.
Quick question:
How can they find you? Why should they choose you?
Answer- partnerships, presence.
I work with International Businesses and train in intercultural business management, and I thoroughly approve of global businesses having local partners to acclimatize , for a variety of reasons best summarized in this blog:

First, build partnerships. Startups come out of incubators and accelerators. Approach and cold call those organizations, e.g. Y-Combinator and Alchemist, show them your credentials. This includes your core competency and past experience.
I can help you message this effectively.
Second- presence. If I google you, what do I see?
Your internet presence is your brand today, and you must have an image that is attractive to the 'foreign startup'. This too, can be nurtured through smart inbound marketing, writing, core competency analysis.
Tough part - this will take time to build and be
recognized in SEO.
To summarize: be searchable, favorable, credible.

As an international deal broker, what is the standard commission rate?
Hi This highly depends on the industry and the country the parties are from. Each country and each industry has different rates. Finder's fee ranges from 3% - 10%. Real estate agent's fees range from 0.5% - 2.5% Commodities deal broker fees can range anywhere from 2% - 20% - it all depends on the deal and the value that you're bringing to both sides. The higher the value, the higher your fee may be. Either way, I suggest you sign both sides on a 'finders fee' or "broker" agreement I can help you draft one of these if you need. I've successfully helped over 300 entrepreneurs and would be happy to help you. After scheduling a call, please send me some background information so that I can prepare in advance - thus giving you maximum value for your money. Take a look at the great reviews I’ve received: https://clarity.fm/assafben-david Good luckAB

When sending a $17 USD product international, what shipping option makes the most sense? (Cheapest) USPS 1st Class VS (Reliable) recog int'l carrier?
Hello, I am not too sure on the US postal services. But 1 option could be to find a fulfilment partner in the regions you are looking to target and ship a box of your best selling lines (via recognised carrier) and then when the sales come in fulfill locally. For example in the UK, the package you have, would cost as low as 0.65p ($1.20) to ship standard post, if you wanted it tracked then you would need to add an extra £1.20 ($2.50) Thanks SamSP

What is the best country to start an online marketing and design business in?
I have registered over 20 companies in the last decade and from my experience I can tell you that every country serves a different purpose. I run a small gambling company that I have registered in Malta due to the legality of online gambling there. I have another company registered in Delaware, whilst my main company is registered in the Netherlands. If your business is only online I would advise you to register it in Europe or if you must in the United States in Delaware/Nevada. Credibility wise I would say that registering your company in Singapore or Malta or Costa Rica, will not benefit you much opposed to say Delaware or The Netherlands. I am available for a call if you need anymore help. I am currently doing a promotion for a one time free 15 minute phone call so just send me a message for the discount code.GS

We are an online marketing firm established in India. How do we take our services to other countries?
Hey, Aayush; I launched a marketing consulting business in 2008 and ended up teaching marketing strategy to companies like Disney, Cox Communications, and more before the recession hit in 2010 and forced a change in career. Let me share what I learned then with you. The easiest way to do this is to find a niche that you may feel is poorly represented and start buying clicks. Maybe you want to pr motor yourself on Facebook to game developers or target a list of 5,000 self-published authors on Twitter. Find the market you wish to enter and figure out how to reach them. Build content that's laser targeted to that market. Optimize your landing pages, do all the smart marketing tactics that you should have learned by now and you should be able to gain some traction. That will take a decent amount of money, but you're generally better off burning money instead of time if you have a successful business. The exchange rate between USD and rupee may hurt too much to do that, though. The alternative is to take time instead of money. Find those same audience members who you want to do marketing for online. They have hangouts somewhere: Google Plus or LinkedIn Groups or even dusty old phpbb forums. Spend a few weeks just listening. See what they need. Start offering some free advice and see how they react. Once you understand what they need and how you can economically provide it, build your landing pages and then go back to your new friends and start asking them to spread the word. Treat those first few clients like kings, because their recommendations can make all the difference between winning over your new market or struggling futilely. For as long as you can afford to, plow all of the profits from your new market into growing that market. Eventually, after a year or three, you'll look around and realize that all the hard work has paid off in success. And then it's time to add another new market and start again. 😊TL
