I've been an entrepreneur for nearly 10 years, and before that a further 8 years in 3 early-stage startups, 1 rapidly scaled to be one of the fastest growing startups of the year, 1 became a zombie, and 1 outright failed - so I've learned an immense amount, from success but mainly failure!
I've founded 2 different types of businesses:
1st - a bootstrapped services business called Echo (acquired).
2nd - a venture-backed tech startup called Guider which I'm working full-time on.
I've learned so much through failure and success, but more to the point - I have found myself intrigued by how impactful learning techniques can radically improve one's ability to upskill and succeed in life and careers, which inspired me to talk about this and start Guider.
I like to talk about the future of Learning, the power of effective learning techniques, mentoring and knowledge retention.
It led me to start Guider. Guider takes a human approach to learning by creating the world's most scalable peer-to-peer learning and mentoring solution - we're probably one of the best solutions out there for large companies that drives engagement in learning.
You may also find me talking about entrepreneurship, the differences between bootstrapping and venture-backed startups and stuff like that. Outside of "work" I co-created a burning man camp, an occasional DJ, Podcaster, and dog owner. Also a Football, golf, skiing, tech and smart home and learning enthusiast. Accredited Coach (Practitioner) with the EMCC.
