Why are you hiring as an employee? Why not hire as a contractor and let them worry about taxes, etc..

Where do you go for outsourcing website development and what do you look for when selecting the right one?

Website dev? or Web Application?
If web site you can build it yourself or see your local Craig/Kijiji list to find a person/company. As well as using oDesk.

As for WebApp.. well this is a whole other story. This typically take a lot of planning and logic to be figured out and setting end goal results and milestones.
I have used companies from Odesk Freelancer as well as local. I had problems with all.

If you can find local you will be more happy as timezone does play an important roll. Just because you think you can get it build for $6k in India will not mean that it is what you want and good code.
You have to find a reputable company and that is done by research or trial and error which cost time and money.

I think you need to provide more information.
ie; industry/space, technology, office location, perks, etc.., avg age of employees, avg age of employees leaving.

What is the best ERP system or any other system for managing a business?

depending on your business you can also use Waveaccounting. it is a free SaaS app.
I use it and have no affiliation with them.
There are many systems of course you can use but it is also about the size of your company.

I want to reduce some dev costs for my startup AND incentivize my main developer. Any suggestions for a possible agreement? Is equity sharing needed?

I would hold on to all your equity as long as you can. If you will be launching soon then you will see what the adoption in either beta or prod will be and this will affect your valuation.
Skin in the game for your dev is great but do they want skin in the game or do they just want a salary?
As a owner you cannot be thinking you are going to get paid anytime soon as every dollar you get will go right back into the business.

If the solutions does not fit the needs for company they don't want to waste their time. You need to find your market for what you currently have and then build the product our from there.

Is Open Cart comparable to Shopify and Magento?

As Kevin has said there are a lot of advantages with SaaS shopping carts.

If you can manage your own server (or have people(s) who can then you should be fine. I could not image from an infrastructure point of view you would build your own physical servers and firewalls, etc... This is why you start out with a VPS from a company like AWS, Godaddy, etc...
Damn, even Digital Ocean has hosting for $5/month.

I'm about to graduate from a 9 week coding bootcamp. Should I start my company or go work and continue learning?

Do both. with a full time position you will have others around you and learn from that environment and with your own project you will be spending a great deal of time reading and trying. So you will be working twice the amount of time and if nothing else you have sped up your dev skills.

At what point should an entrepreneur give up on their venture?

I have had similar questions. For myself I am technical although not a developer and having to hire developer consultants, manage the product, advertise and all the other items the go with being a founder. The biggest challenge he been hiring developers I can afford who will actually do the work with quality.
So, yes I have had these same questions however when I get businesses registering or emails asking if my system does "ABC" I know I am building the right product and it's just the time the developers are taking to get it done which is my main issue.

My latest issues have been development staff and trying to get the development complete to guide the customers for configuring the system.

For my situation I am over the hump and just cleaning up loose ends to make it easier for people to use.

So for yourself, are people going to find your product useful and will they pay for it?
