For the most part, I have spent much of the last 10 years within the financial industry within a consultation and sales environment, ranging from a call centre agent to financial advisor at one of South Africa's leading Insurance companies as well as Corporate benefits for an investment house.
I have manged a small call centre, small sales teams as well as implemented various strategies to improve total turnover.
As a manager, I believe that one should always adapt oneself to ones sales team and not expect them to adapt. Encourage and praise their strengths, coach them and guide them through their weaknesses.
Understanding sales metrics allows one to successfully measure where you are at and allows you to predict where you are heading to... this allows one the opportunity to strategize and change your plan of action.
