I have known Umer since past 7 years, first as a colleague during undergraduate studies and then as a professional. In a class of 80 students I found him to be the most energetic, self motivated, determined and responsible individual. What sets him apart is his understanding of the role of engineers in solving societal problems and that is why he has always chosen the most practical and challenging projects, one example is his senior undergraduate project namely, Intelligent Solar Tracker. Despite the lack of relevant supervision he led his group with utmost professionalism and showed exquisite problem solving skills and completed the project in the given time frame. As a result of this he got our department interested in modern power and energy systems and has helped them initiate various projects in this domain. Mr. Umer Adnan was my senior during my undergraduate studies at NUST. I have always admired his tenacity of being able to perform well in challenging engineering environments.
