Travis was super helpful in answering all of my wide variety of questions about Mongolia - from the tech startup scene to cultural nuances. He also has a wide network there and offered to introduce me to as many of them as I can meet in my trip there!
Travis has been such an inspirational figure in my life. Ever since I started studying at SIT Graduate Institute, Travis has been there to help me through the rough patches and to motivate me to accomplish more. His entrepreneurial prowess in starting Advance Humanity and managing personal and professional brands has provided a model I hope to emulate. I'd love to have the chance to work with him some day.
Travis has inspired, encouraged, and supported me to pursue my passion for writing. He has provided me the tools and support to write about my projects by helping me create and start my first blog. He is also helping me design my own website where I will be able to share my writings. Working with Travis I have been fortunate enough to be involved in many projects that have allowed me to meet wonderful, inspiring people who are making real change around the world. Travis is truly inspiring and I feel blessed to be able to call him a friend.
Travis is an ambitious and creative person who values every relationship. He is able to bring the best out of everyone he meets. I enjoy working with Travis and know he will always produce amazing results. He is a fantastic leader who welcomes feedback and is willing to learn something new.
Travis is a natural leader both inside and outside of the classroom. Heavily engaged in class discussions and extracurricular organizations, Travis is an exemplary colleague, modeling an innovative approach to interdisciplinary campus and community development. He's served as a peer mentor for me, and has always been exceptional to work with and learn from. His outstanding guidance and leadership as President of Net Impact SIT was an introduction to working with him professionally, and I soon joined his organization Advance Humanity, with which I now work full time. Every minute of working with Travis has been empowering and inspiring.
Travis is a true social entrepreneur. He is also a futurist. Where the planet is facing significant challenges, he sees opportunities. He has vision, and he is both creative and practical. He also looks for synergies, how different groups can network in a way that the whole becomes much larger than the sum of the parts.
Travis Hellstrom is an extraordinary man. As his business partner and friend, I have seen many examples of his skills and have long been impressed by his diligence and work ethic. TEDx Ulaanbaatar event was successfully held for the first time in Mongolia in 2011. Through his guidance and help, our team were able to host the event. He was a great leader to the team as a co-founder of the event. Not only has he got much experience and skills when it comes to work, I have found him as accurate, responsible as well as compassionate person.
Travis is a truly exceptional and one of a kind individual. Since we first began working together, Travis has shown himself to be dedicated, hard working, reliable, and is always searching for ways to assist in any way he can and find solutions to even the most daunting issues that may arise. More than that Travis has been a source of inspiration, encouragement, and knowledge. His passion for helping others and making a difference is only one of the things that sets Travis apart from the rest. His guidance has helped Life Vest Inside continue to move forward and take steps in the right direction.
Whether it is his leadership at Advance Humanity, TEDx, New Media Foundation, The Peace Corps, or as an Adviser; Travis' drive, business acumen and passion to empower others is second to none. As an Adviser to Project: Living Well, he has continuously encouraged and challenged our team to think bigger than ourselves. As a colleague, he is an inspiration. Travis is a player every team needs, and I look forward to seeing him surpass the audacious goals he continues to set for himself.
I met Travis when we were both sent to Mongolia in June 2008 as Peace Corps Volunteers. We became acquainted during training and, though serving in different locations, kept in touch via email and often had long talks during subsequent Peace Corps gatherings in Mongolia. Our backgrounds are very different (I have grandchildren), but we share many of the same goals and values. I've hired many people during my life and, if I were hiring today, I'd put Travis at the top of my list as a potential employee. He combines a fine intellect and a genuine compassion for his fellow man. He works hard and accomplishes what he sets out to do. He's well respected by his peers and has built solid relationships with both fellow Peace Corps Volunteers and with Mongolians. He's a good listener and can also inspire others to reach higher in their own work. I'm confident he would be a fine asset to any organization.
TEDxUlaanbaatar was an inspiring event! It was well-organized and executed thanks in large part to the thoughtful leadership skills of Travis Hellstrom. I am looking forward to witnessing the success of this project, which Travis co-founded.
