John created the Boomer Reinvention® system from the lessons he has learned over a 40-year career devoted to creative talent and creative projects in Media/Entertainment.
Inquisitive, creative, unconventional, and an early adopter, John has held 18 positions over his career, as talent agent, studio executive, film and game producer, talent manager, BizDev consultant, project manager, and program developer. He has the distinction of having been fired 39% of the time in his career, a statistic that has, ironically, enabled (or forced, depending on your point of view) him to figure out the reinvention process.
In the ‘70s and ‘80s, he developed and produced movies for Warner Bros, Columbia, MGM and others, founded a tech startup during the '90s bubble, and then led the artistic leadership training and university outreach programs for DreamWorks Animation. Since 2009, he has been serving as a professor and program co-lead for Carnegie Mellon University’s L.A.-based Entertainment Industry Management graduate program.
John holds a MA in Spiritual Psychology from the University of Santa Monica, and a BA magna cum laude from Amherst College.
