MenuI'm launching a marketplace for event vendors to list products/services for planners. Is there demand for this? What challenges are likely to occur?
It would be a platform where event vendors can list their products, rentals, and services, allowing event planners to easily find and purchase everything they need in one place. From your experience in the event planning industry, do you think there is a strong demand for this type of platform? What challenges or opportunities do you foresee for a marketplace that serves both vendors and event organizers?
Answers
The issues are:
1) you have to sign up thousands of suppliers to cover geographic issues
2) You need thousands of event planners to make the platform be of interest to suppliers
3) How will you monitize this (i.e. membership dues, commissin on each transaction)?
4) Tech stack needed is expensive
1. Demand: Yes, there’s strong demand—event planners seek streamlined solutions to find, compare, and book vendors for services and rentals quickly, avoiding fragmented searches across multiple platforms.
2. Challenges:
• Vendor Onboarding: Convincing vendors to join, maintain listings, and provide competitive pricing.
• Trust and Quality: Ensuring vendors deliver reliable, high-quality services to build credibility.
• Monetization and Engagement: Balancing platform fees to attract users while maintaining profitability.
3. Opportunities:
• Niche Differentiation: Specialize in unique categories (e.g., luxury vendors, sustainable events) to stand out.
• Tech Features: Add tools like instant booking, real-time availability, and reviews to enhance user experience.
• Scaling Relationships: Partner with large venues or planners for recurring business and greater visibility.

Should we allow users to use our app in beta or wait to launch until the app is ready?
Congratulations on the launch of your Beta testing! That is half the battle. My advice would be to slowly do another round of Beta testing and inviting people who you know will give you good feedback and help you improve your app. Then in the mean time get PR to pump up your app again for launch in a month. Not every app when it launches is perfect, we all have to update apps on our phone constantly so do not be afraid to go live. If you would like to set up a phone call I would love to chat more in depth because I have two friends who have get apps that I may be able to connect you with who have been in the same shoes as you!LC

I currently own an LLC. But i want to make sub-companies in diff service fields. How can i structure that especially when it comes to taxes?
From the IRS point of view sub companies without an FEIN are the same as the mother company. Just add their names and profit and loss on your taxes. Sub companies with a FEIN but not incorporated are the same as the mother company, nothing extra to do here either. Sub companies with a Fein and Incorporated as a LLC is just multiple companies, just add them to your taxes the same you would if you worked at 2 jobs. Sub companies with a FEIN and incorporated as a Corporation is no longer a child and must do its own taxes separately. There's nothing to "Structure" really because IRS don't care where your money is coming from, as long as you report that it is coming from somewhere so it can be taxed and tracked. I'm not an accountant just a fellow business owner, and i've been successfully doing my own taxes now for over 20 years.CA

How can I monetize my app?
When you say "2 platform app" are you referring to a multi-sided platform? or specifically a 2 sided marketplace? Like Uber that has a driver and a passenger? If this is the case I recommend you reading about multisided platforms — https://www.amazon.com.br/Matchmakers-New-Economics-Multisided-Platforms/dp/1633691721. Once you read it I will be glad to talk with you with this VIP link https://clarity.fm/mgalli/crack806-multisided but keep in mind I am not an expert, just a leaner too that can offer some little help.MG

What is the difference in price for a 500 person conference in Orlando FL vs. the same conference in Columbus Ohio?
I think your best bet for an answer has three answers, 1. You need to take the time and call around, no one is going to do this for free for you. 2. Hire a function planner, and let them do the work 3. go to Zirtual.com, and hire a person to do all that research for you, and get your answer. In the end, your question is really a job request, and you should be browsing through the people on this site who may do that kind of work and hire them.CA
