MenuSeeking advice / opinion.
Im planning to make a software that helps learning any language from movies. Fairly simple to make. It will allow to watch a movie and enable/disable/change either subtitles and language and re-watch specific trunks easily. Design and creation is not a problem at all, what im not sure about is how to monetize the the whole thing. I already thought about Freemium, subscription plan, software fee, ADS, but none of those i think will work i suppose.
Any idea how i can monetize my idea?

im happy when i see new idea
firstly dont think which you said not working ads/ registration all this is way to success but you can use it which who have pronunciation problems and you can make contract with lang.center to give your app as gift to help more faster
contact me for any advice
We have been working in this video technology for quite a long time. "Content is the king", by saying this content will help correct accent, colloquial word meaning, right use. The scenes will help to relate with real situations. In your monetization idea you could also add connecting your app/application with institution, training centres, online influencers/teachers to use the snippet of your software. Also expose the API, so that it could be white label-ed (for local distributor), or could be integrated with any LMS. For more advice, please connect with me sandeep.bera@tranzsilica.com or call me

Do you think businesses would benefit from an online course that teaches Spanish for business & insight on the Latin American customer in US?
I think you are missing the market research step. You need to ask the people that you would be targeting, because at the moment, I'm unsure why someone would use your product, over say using a platform where they can hire an online tutor and learn from them, or use Rosetta for example. I get that you have the learn about Latin Culture component, but are potential clients really falling over themselves to learn more more about this market, that they would pay for it, especially when google is so helpful. Also, freelancers, entrepreneurs, business owners etc is a pretty large group, maybe start with narrowing that down, then asking them directly, if it would be something they want to buy, or you could also test the idea using something like Udemy. If you need any further help with this, feel free to book a call with me!MM

How can you acquire a unique knowledge that sets you apart from your competition and provides high value while gaining attention?
What I would recommend is to find out what your competitions are not doing. then figure out how you can add more value at that area. Adding more value to people life that out weight your competitions is the key to stand out.CT

How can I reach out to engineering colleges and ask their students to signup for my product?
You can do this organically + reaching target customers will be slow. You can do this by speaking to local college Marketing groups. Many engineering students attend these talks. Contact Marketing Deans at colleges to work out details. A better way is to either use Facebook Ads or Traffic Oxygen (which allows creating audiences across many networks, including Facebook + many others). Facebook Ads are very cheap. If your budget can't support this, likely your project as many bigger problems. You can also start a Kickstarter project. You'll find out very quickly if people are interested, via Kickstarter comments + funding... or lack of funding...DF

What are your top pro-tips for getting over the hump with an online course? Getting in online > marketing > through to profits?
I'm actually in the middle of doing this exact same thing, ie, converting my in-person brand workshop into online modules. I would be happy to have an informational call and I can share what I've done so far about converting the workshop into modules and lessons with worksheets. If interested, message me and we can connect. -JLJT

What is the best way to isolate a niche group to target as potential users of our iphone app?
I am sorry - I think it should work backwards: you identify your end users and their problems and then design the product and get back to them.... Otherwise it is an old problem on inventors making "solutions in search of the problem".EB
