As an introvert, some of the traditional ways of outreach are difficult and not efficient/effective for me, so curious if there are recommended ways for someone like me to increase sales? Thanks!
As an introvert that had to overcome my resistance towards sales outreach, I can imagine how daunting it can be.
Contrary to popular belief, from my experience I've seen introverts become the best sales professionals. As you may know, introverts are often very good at focusing on their strengths.
This may include:
- better preparation and research before doing an outreach.
- listening and more inquisitive conversations with prospects.
- working on improving your expertise.
What has helped me get over my introversion to sales has been to focus on areas where I'm best at. My writing is far more superior to my phone skills so I've dedicated my tip to improving email copywriting.
When I do pick up the phone, I make sure to call lower quality prospects first to warm up knowing that I'll mess up, which is completely fine.
I've focused time on content creation and building my expertise which is the inbound marketing approach. This helps attract prospects to my business instead of cold outreach.
There are numerous tactics you can do to embrace your introversion to outreach and I'm happy to help. Feel free to set up a call with me so we can work together and increase your sales.
Happy New Year (2020) !

OR
* Option 2 : The Introvert Founder should Urgently Hire a Dedicated Battalion of Trustworthy Extroverts ; to competently do all of the Frontline Publicity Work for Him (or Her).

Well, obviously you cant talk to yourself and sell can you? but you can tackle the fear of being judged which in most cases is the reason to being an introvert. In other words it is possible to develop new set of sales skills even if you are an introvert. I can help you...a lot. Cheers, Eli
Do you know that Mark Zuckerberg was also an introvert? Did it stopped him from making Facebook or scaling facebook as world's best social media platform? It's not about being introvert or extrovert it's about your will to succeed. It's about what strategies you use to overcome obstacles. I know you want to know those strategies and as a guide I could help you in that. Let's talk and make you better.
If it's not working for you, then don't do it! Focus on the outreach methods that are working and delegate the rest.
As a fellow introvert, I understand where you're coming from and I hate cold calling. That's why I hired someone from the Philippines who does it for $8/hr.
If you don't have any budget at all, let other people do the work for you and give them a commission.
Sales representatives, affiliate marketers and referrals are all great ways to increase sales without sacrificing your mental energy/health.
I wish you the best!
as i think if i was a introvert founder firstly i was prepared myself in the field of sales is makes sure my self about the product which i was going to sell to anyone is one of the good products if a costumer ask me question like why this product is good what is the best part which make it different from other i was here to buy that product but cause of something it is not available here i found your product it shows the same things which is written on the product that for i am here does it really helps me same so at that time . for selling my product and gives a best varified of my product which may helps to make sure the costumer to buy my product only for that i have to be sure first about the product . if i can explain the costumer and the costumer satisfied so that my brand goes higher in selling and then here is your answer to sell your product . you also need to add your product in market
Offer great content establishing knowledge leadership in your field. Build following on whatever social media platform, that suits your business best. Offer some sort of subscription service, so you can inform about new content, and get to know, who your customers are individually. And then sell through those contacts through mailing or social media getting potential customers to contact you. For an introvert, this is much easier than cold calling. Then your leads would know what they are interested in. That is how I as a fellow introvert would approach it. You will feel much more comfortable, and focus on what you do best.
If you want to talk more about either sales process or introversion, feel free to schedule a call with me. First call is free.
Best regards

I have found a fear of public speaking or socializing comes out of a concern for the topic. As a founder you are the expert in your business. Showcase that but keeping the discussion focused on your strengths. Also, if you are not the type of person who likes to work a room at conferences start with softer ways of outreach through social media where you can play a character or a role of a charismatic founder without having to do it face to face. This can lead to one on one emails or direct messages, then slowly phone calls, so you can ease into the discussion with a prospective client or partner.
No simple answer to this question is there? I too am what I would call a outgoing introvert. ;) I have spoken in front of thousands, do part time motorsports announcing over the PA system and have started many businesses as well as worked in Sales my whole life and I still call myself an introvert. So what do I suggest you do? I suggest you just mentally harden up a bit and get to work. I know that's a bit tough, but that is usually all that it takes to move forward. If you are in business for yourself, if all is on the line to make sure sales are up and the business is growing, then you should cast aside your personal mind blocks and get down to the task at hand. Take one task at a time, one call at a time and move forward. You will find after a time, you won't be thinking about your "introvert" status and business will be good. Hope this helps. Cheers Rome
Hire or team up with EXTROVERTS. OR use digital outreach methods like email, PR and advertising.
As an introverted sales and marketing professional I can speak to the fact that one can make a very successful salesperson.
As an introvert we tend to listen more than speak and this is vital in the sales process. With the proper sales training you will learn to leverage things you learn about people to sale your product.
My recommendation would be to take a sales course. Learn a method. Once you practice and are confident on the process you will do amazing by being introverted.
Give me a call if you would like to learn more. I can even teach you advance selling techniques.
Hope this helps!
According to Olsen Laney’s book The Introvert Advantage, research shows that a neural signal within an introvert’s brain follows a longer path than in an extrovert’s, suggesting that more mental connections are made when introverts are asked questions. In sales, critical thinking is crucial. Being able to anticipate objections and thoughtfully answer questions is essential for a consultative salesperson, and introverts’ natural ability to think deeply is an advantage. Introverts make great listeners.
