MenuHow do I find customers online for the negotiation services business I am about to launch?
I will be helping business owners negotiate with suppliers, JV partners, acquisition targets, customers, etc.
I can save them from thousands to millions depending on the size of the deal. It will be risk-free because I will only charge a success fee.
I am already aware of LinkedIn, obviously. Any other suggestions?

You're going to want a comprehensive marketing strategy that determines where your likely customers spend their time online and you'll want to focus on one to two channels that you will work to their maximum benefit until you feel they are saturated. You probably also want to think about enabling technologies that will allow you to scale your inputs so you don't have to wear yourself out services clients while your business development suffers. There are a lot of "it depends" in your question. It's not enough to "find" if you don't have an engagement strategy of what you will do when you find them. I'd be happy to talk through this with you and point you in the right direction. All of my work is related to B2B sales of this nature.
Show up at Meetup networking events.
My guess is if you press flesh with humans, you'll make a truckload more evergreen money, than using social media.
Try this experiment + see how it effects your bottom line.
Working Meetup events is similar to Dan Kennedy's suggestion the best way to fish is with a barrel of fish + a shotgun or dynamite.
How do you get your first 10 customers?
First, forget marketing. It’s great but, a little slower to bear fruit. Plus you do not know your customer profile yet. Today, is about making your first sale.
Second, forget hiring a sales person… yet. You need to figure out how your solution is sold before you know what type of sales person you need.
Get out of the spreadsheet and into your client’s office.
I will skip over pre selling as it sounds like you are past that.
Sell now
If your product is ready to start selling now then make a list of 10 ideal targets from your own network. Choose people you have worked with in the past that are in your target network. The reason being is that these are warm prospects where you have already built up trust and rapport. Be hyper focused on the right market and customer type. If someone is a maybe fit, mark them as not a fit for now and select someone else. Don’t make the mistake of trying to sell to everybody. It doesn’t work!
Prepare your conversation.
Prepare a very basic script of what to discuss with the prospect. Focus on the problems that your solution can help with. Ideally these should be common problems that the market experiences. Create 5-6 questions that you could ask. Rehearse this a bit until you feel like the conversation and questions sound natural.
“Higher-performing sales representatives ask prospects more questions–often more than twice as many. Their questions are more focused on implications than on data. Put another way, they ask questions about what something means rather than just what it is” according to author Tom Searcy.
The questions should help validate the problem the customer is having, validate if your solution is the right fit and determine if they are willing to pay for it. The answers determine how you describe your solution to them using the prospect’s own words as much as possible.
Some examples of questions might be:
Would you mind telling me about your current situation?
What would you say is one of the top three priorities you are grappling with right now in your company?
What’s not working?
If (Your solution) addressed (repeat issues raised back to them), would you be willing to pay for that?
Would you make a purchase order for it now?
Given what we have discussed here today, what would it take for you to become a customer?
The Rain Group have a list of 21 powerful, open-ended sales questions around rapport, aspirations and afflictions, impact and envisioning a new reality.
Reach out and meet with them.
Outreach via phone, email or LinkedIn. Be persistent until you talk to everyone and ask if you can meet them. Those that say no, ask if they can recommend someone else instead.
You will need lots of persistence at this stage. Even prospecting within your warm market requires lots of touches so do not get discouraged by lack of replies.
The Bridge Group, researched 355 of the leading SaaS companies and found that sales people make on average six to eight attempts before throwing in the towel. However High performing sales people make up to 12 attempts.
Sales development reps number of contacts per lead
Meet with the 10 prospects and be upfront with them. Explain that you have a new solution that you are looking to validate in the market. But take the pressure out of the conversation and explain that you are looking for their expert feedback on your idea and solution. A sale would be the ultimate validation but either result is a successful meeting for you. This takes the pressure off the prospect and allows them to relax more and hear about your solution.
Your mindset is key. You are not going in to sell them. You are going in to find out their problems and see if you can help them solve it.
Finish every conversation with the question “What would it take for you to become a customer?” This determines your next step.
Did you get a sale?
Yes? Well done.
No? If you can’t sell your product or service to someone who already knows, likes, and trusts you then carefully consider if you are talking to the right type of people and there really is a market for your product. If you are really really sure, step it up a notch.
You need to widen your net. If you are selling business to business start by identifying 100 companies you can sell to in your local area (drivable distance). Start calling them and if anyone shows interest then go and meet with them. At this stage of the business you really need face to face meetings to hear their issues, see their reactions when you describe your product and to understand why they are saying yes or no.
Your first sale, it does not matter too much about making a profit on the sale. Travelling and meeting face to face will probably not scale for your business. The points you are trying to prove is that 1. someone will pay for your product (and hopefully pay your asking price). 2. you are targeting the right market. 3. Get an example customer to show your next prospect which will make the sale easier.

What are the best ways to generate traffic or ways to reach to the customers you are looking for as a startup?
It really comes down to 2 major buckets. 1) CONTENT / INBOUND MARKETING Some people consider this option free, but it's not. Time is money, and it requires an major investment to do it right. The options are: - Company blog - Guest post on other blogs - Engage on social media (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram) - Press - Videos on YouTube - Create a free App (web or mobile) etc ... This strategy is all about create amazing content/information/tools for your customers. Think about their major questions they have for your industry, and answer them. Even consider teaching them everything you know about your industry. Doing so will attract them, and make you look like an authority. I've done this with my past 2 companies Flowtown (300K U/V), and Clarity (40K U/V) blogs. Each of the items mentioned above have a unique strategy and tactic .. so best to pic the one you'd be most excited about creating, and do just that one with all your resources. 2) PAID MARKETING Paid means using advertising to introduce your company to potential customers. Some options you have: - Google Adwords - Facebook Ads - Twitter Ads - Bing Ads - Banner Ads etc ... The only way I would suggest paid marketing is if you truly understand your customer LTV (Lifetime Value). If you don't know that, then you could be wasting money attracting views to your startup that aren't profitable. So be sure to have a product / service that makes profit, then you can test different paid marketing channels. My rule of thumb, is it'll cost your $200 to get 1 new paying customer (on avg.), so unless you're making $600 profit from a new customer, don't both for now. If you need to discuss further, you know how to find me.DM

What is the best timing in the new year to launch business marketing?
Hi there! In few words, the launch date does not matter a lot as long as you are following with a continuous marketing plan all the year. It is better to tune your lunch date according to your marketing campaign than connecting it to the seasonal event. The timing of your launch only matters if your website is already ranked or has a good authority associated to it. Launching a website is not like opening a local shop. The launch date is defined by the effectiveness of your marketing campaign. In other words, your question must be rephrased as: "When is the best time to launch my first marketing campaign for my newly created website?". In that case, you will need to describe in details what kind of website you have and how are you planning to market it. I would be able to give you a more accurate answer if you explain to me what kind of website are you planning to launch or what products mainly are you selling. Hope that helps!RZ

What is the best country to start an online marketing and design business in?
I have registered over 20 companies in the last decade and from my experience I can tell you that every country serves a different purpose. I run a small gambling company that I have registered in Malta due to the legality of online gambling there. I have another company registered in Delaware, whilst my main company is registered in the Netherlands. If your business is only online I would advise you to register it in Europe or if you must in the United States in Delaware/Nevada. Credibility wise I would say that registering your company in Singapore or Malta or Costa Rica, will not benefit you much opposed to say Delaware or The Netherlands. I am available for a call if you need anymore help. I am currently doing a promotion for a one time free 15 minute phone call so just send me a message for the discount code.GS

Need a good lead generation strategy for chiropractors for getting new patients. Ideas?
I think Facebook is great for really targeting your audience and you’re on the right track. But I think you can have a better funnel than that. I find, for getting better conversion today, it is better to get your Facebook traffic off of Facebook as fast as you can to your offer and into your funnel. It is more effective for driving actual sales. If you’re just looking for social branding etc. then your funnel might be ok. A very effect strategy is to create either a video or report that you give away to your audience in exchange for an email. It should be something that helps solve or bring to light the problems patients are suffering from and how to go about solving them. Then mention how having a great Chiropractor can solve all of that and can be the most effective way to get ride of the pain. I would also have some things in there that would help them in other ways. Then I would send them to an event or webinar with your top Chiropractor and you in an interview / reveal-all type webinar to educate your lead and manage their fears of going to a Chiropractor. You could tell them that the first step is making an appointment for an assessment. You should make it easy for them to find the best and most effective Chiropractor in their area. You might have a discount on the assessment only available to them for being on the webinar to get them to sign up at the end of the webinar. By the way, once this is recorded, you can make this evergreen so you don't have to do a webinar all the time. As long as you are reaching more and new people with your Facebook campaign you won’t have to change the video all the time. Once you have people signed up to make an appointment, make sure they are also putting a deposit of a 100 dollars or something down. This will increase your show rate for the Chiropractors. Then give them a voucher for that Chiropractor, for more than you’re asking for at the deposit for services, to use with that Chiropractor. Allowing you to prevent cancelations etc. so that their getting their money back in the form of a voucher for services which, by the way, is not a discount and shouldn’t diminishing your Chiropractors Rates. This strategy I have used in several markets that has produced more prequalified leads and patients / customers. Remember to test, track and know your metrics. You’re going to need to make some tweaks in the beginning, but this can be very effective for you. So to recap: 1. Setup a landing page with your offer in exchange for an offer. You can build this in software like Leadpages.net or Megaphoneapp.com 2. Make your offer downloadable if an ebook or white paper or present your video after. I recommend using Wistia instead of YouTube for playback as you will be able to have heat maps of your video to know where your fall off points are. You can also make this page with the software mentioned above. 3. Use an email autoresponder to engage your lead and email them about the event you’re doing after they had time to read or download your materials. Or, if a video, I would just pitch them at the end with a link below the video to automatically register. 4. Put on a webinar with your guest using either GoToWebinar or Google hangouts if you know how to set that up. 5. Make sure you have your appointment getting page with your the down payment created. You can use several different type of scheduling services so you can automatically deliver the lead/ appointment to the chiropractor. To Note: The reason I don’t send the visitor to the webinar first is because it is better to get the visitor predisposed to your information before asking them to commit to a webinar and when you do it the way I played out, you will have a much better show rate. This is it in a nutshell. Obviously there is more to it. If you need another funnel idea I am hear to help. I have used other effective strategies in the past to also make money on the front end to make your advertising free. It just depends on what you want to do and how advanced you want to get. Hope this helps give you some ideas. :) If you need help implementing something like this just let me know.MH

How can I effectively market my online business to baby boomers / senior citizens?
You have a lot of options to market to boomers and seniors. That age group is facebook's fastest growing segment. Build ads that target that age group and think about having a facebook page to supplement your efforts there. Older people search just like the rest of us as well, so build an adwords campaign around keywords that might align with your product. Contact me if you'd like to chat about some options or need some help building your campaigns. Good luck!JR
