I am searching for different experts, e.g Facebook Advertising, SEO etc. The top listings often have a lot of calls racked up but then as I scan down the list it quickly doesn't really make sense who is ranked higher. E.g someone who only has 2 five star calls and charges $4/min is ranked higher than someone who has 11 five star calls and charges $1/min. Their profile listings can be different but there doesn't seem to be much rhyme or reason for it either. Thanks for your help!
I've heard that several factors can impact your ranking in Clarity's search results. One is how active you are in the answers community (where we are now). My assumption is simply the more questions you answer, the more boost you get. Another is how complete your profile and expertise listing are. Last, Clarity is huge on responsiveness of experts to questions and call requests. I would bet those that respond quickly and show up for scheduled calls on time get more preference in search results. These are based on my observations and experience, I haven't seen under Clarity's hood.
It's all a matter of "key terms" in the users profile. The higher ranked keywords person will show up higher in the list.
Like you mentioned, it seems rating and number of ratings is an important factor.
Can't say for sure, but one thing I've noticed is that those who have more recent calls or recent activity will rank higher than someone with more ratings, but older activity.
