What are the best practices in hiring the right employee(s)?

We need to find the right size broker to fit what we offer. Our traction is excellent, but looking to sell now due to personal reasons. We're attracting best players in the market for commercial talks but need to appoint the right broker with the right contacts to properly scope the market potential. Any recommendations welcomed. Thanks!
