MenuAre there any "organic search result" benefits to using a landing page services like LeadPages, KickoffLabs, Unbounce, or Instapage?
I know landing page services are great to easily create multiple different landing pages for targeted audiences. However, do I receive any "organic search result" benefits from creating landing pages through these services?
Would I benefit more by creating and hosting my own landing pages on my domain to increase organic search results?

From my own experience I would say so. Technically platforms like Instapage, which I have extensively used, do have an SEO feature built into them, although I really don't think they work - is very basic and any good SEO person would know that meta tags and key words are only the tip of the search iceburg.
Landing pages should always be a/b optimized, if you can pull that off yourself without these platforms then go ahead because ultimately you can customize to full seo needs.
I actually think they create more problems for SEO rather than help. Because I have numerous elements being tested, generally the content is similar, and this creates duplicate content issues. Typically I use ROBOTs tags to hide my landing pages from search engines and prevent dupe content issues.
That being said, whatever it is you learn from your landing pages should be used on your website pages that ARE seen by search engines. Use them to improve your content and offers. This will improve your site performance overall and help your website SEO because of good metrics.
Having experience integrating Unbounce these are served on a third party host and are therefore not indexed as part of your domain as they are blocked. I would be very wary of using these if you are considering creating a landing page that is very similar to the theme of another existing landing page within your main web page navigation.
As others have mentioned you may want to look at controlling how these are crawled, blocked or viewed by search engines if you are considering using these as part of any future strategy.

SEO: Subdomain or subdirectory for blog?
Google's official stance is that they are "roughly equivalent" and recommends to do what is technically simpler to implement (source: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_MswMYk05tk). With that said, I'd recommend a directory over a subdomain. Doing this consolidates signals to a single domain, which should then theoretically build more authority for all pages off of that single domain. This consolidation of authority results in rank increases, which have been documented here: http://moz.com/community/q/moz-s-official-stance-on-subdomain-vs-subfolder-does-it-need-updating. A subdomain would split signals from the blog and the rest of the root domain content. So while Google "says" they're roughly equivalent, SEOs have seen tangible evidence that sticking to a single domain can be beneficial. If you're able to go with www.iconery.com/editorial/, I'd choose that. Hope this helps!KR

Should I absolutely use my real name for my personal brand or can I use an alias (my middle name)?
Hi Kristin! So, I take it you have your firstnamelastname.com AND firstnamemiddlename.com You can really go either way. However, whichever way you go, it needs to be on all of your branding. For legal stuff, contracts and etc - you will need to include your last name. So even if you use Kristina Blair everywhere, for legal stuff, you can add your last name so that it's Kristina Blair Colpitts. Hope that helps! Let me know, NicoleNK

How does one make a strong portfolio for a new SEO agency?
immediaC has built and deployed more that 3000 website and mobile apps since 1998. Here are a couple of ideas for you to establish your credibility and built trust fast: 1 . Make sure it totally rocks. 3. While your teams previous work might not be part of your company's official portfolio, you can talk about their specific industry experience and success. 4. Work your networks. People buy from people they trust. Virtually every company out there is concerned about their online strategy, and how to be effective online. It is overwhelming for many businesses. They want a trusted expert. The people you already know, and the people who already know your team, are the easiest to establish trust with. Start with them. Is it possible to increase my site's SEO by getting blogs/other websites to provide back links to my site?
If you got 5000 sites to link to your site using the same keyword you'll likely be flagged for spam and attempting to manipulate the search results. That is an old-school attempt at SEOing a site that Google and the other search engines have already developed algorithmic answers to. There are three aspects to building up your search rankings. 1) On-Site Optimization: Your site has to be coded in a way that is search and mobile friendly. You need to optimize your content for searcher's topical interest's (keywords), and give your visitors a great on-site experience by focusing on usability issues. 2) Content: You need to create and publish awesome content that fills the needs of the audience you're trying to reach. Write blog posts and create other forms of content that answer questions, provide tips, and map out solutions that truly illustrate that you are an authority on the topic. 3) Social Engagement / Links: Links are an important part of the algorithm, but getting a bunch of sites to link to you using keywords is the wrong approach. You need to be engaging on social media and (to a far lesser extent) socializing your content above. But the more you engage, the more others will socialize your content for you, which is where authority is really built.SD

Will redesigning a website (ground up) ruin the search ranking of a site?
TL;DR -> Yes you will risk it if you don't perform a proper audit and migration from the original platform. Any type of architecture changes can 100% ruin your SEO if you are not migrating content and topics correctly. Many people assume this is limited to URI structure but underestimate the power of Topical hierarchy and the content, internal linking and URI structure which play a crucial role into any migration effort. If you have any questions about the migration process, give me a shout. Decent free migration checklist: https://searchengineland.com/site-migration-seo-checklist-dont-lose-traffic-286880TM
