I got into developing social media technology and becoming an expert negotiator through the back door.
In 2004, I went from being an unknown author to having one of the best-selling online book series 4 Christmas seasons in a row, breaking sales records. While the series was available in bookstores, 99% of purchasers came from highly innovative internet marketing.
This was facilitated by my development of several cutting-edge social media-related applications. I received two patents for these innovations (US Patents 9,170,989 and 8,402,357). The technology can be found underlying hundreds of millions of web pages related to online social commenting features.
Since that time, I have had to negotiate many major sales, employee, IP and legal agreements — the type that make or break small companies, particularly startups. I've also consulted with a number of successful entrepreneurs helping them in critical do-or-die sales, legal and team-related negotiations.
Besides having spent years in Silicon Valley, I also worked negotiating IP legislation with top lawmakers in Washington, DC. I have a new book and online course coming out related to negotiation, resolving conflict and creating harmonious alliances and teams in business, politics and your personal life. (No sense being a stellar business success if it causes your family and personal relationships to fall apart.)
Whether handling a difficult team member or investor, negotiating a major agreement where there's some major potential kink in the process, or averting legal action and costs that may ensue if you make one wrong move, I love helping fellow entrepreneurs smooth their pathway to avoid disaster and instead, achieve success and potential greatness.
Given a very busy schedule, I take on a very limited number of clients but give my all to those I work with.
