Laurent Oules is currently an independent consultant in the flexible packaging space, and in this role has experience consulting with Russian flexible manufacturer Danaflex. He was previously CEO of Danaflex between January 2016 and February 2017. He was formerly VP Technology Manufacturing at Essilor (until June 2015), an ophtalmic lens manufacturer, with 5bEURO sales and 54000 employees worldwide. He was responsible for defining and delivering group's technology strategy, across a network of c. 450 plants (laboratories) of Rx prescription across the world, within the Global Engineering and Operations department. Essilor is the leading supplier of high-value added, innovative opthalmic lenses through products like Varilux, Crizal. Until 2012, Laurent Oules was the President at Amcor Flexibles Food France, a subsidiary of Amcor. Additionally, he was also the Director-Strategy and Business Development at Amcor Flexibles, a manufacturer and distributer of a broad range of metal, plastic and paper packaging, focusing on "high performance" technical products for food, pharma and technical packaging applications. He was responsible for supervising the French Business Entity focusing on plastic films, flexible packaging for food and non-food products, leading and coordinating major projects for key customers and implementing new management processes. Mr. Oules has extensive experience in the packaging industry. Prior to this, from 2004 until 2010, he worked as Director Strategy at Alcan Packaging Food Europe, a company specializing in flexible packaging catering to the food and beverages market. He was accountable for driving European manufacturing strategy and business development initiatives, and supervising new capital investments. Previously, from 2002 until 2004, he was employed as Manager-Corporate Strategy at Pechiney Group, an aluminium conglomerate acquired by Alcan Corporation. Mr. Oules was responsible for coordinating and supporting strategy development and financial planning processes. Prior to this, from 1999 until 2002, he was employed as a Senior Consultant at McKinsey and Project Manager at Air Liquide Sante International.
