Marketing Consultant. Brand & Customer Experience Evangelist. Professional Speaker. Copywriting Professional. Author, #BeyondYourLogo
In my previous marketing positions, and as a consultant and speaker, I have worked on brand identity, re-branding, and brand experience projects. I look at branding holistically, encompassing every touchpoint about a company, organization, or individual.
As someone who has worked on the "inside" of nonprofit marketing for many years, I believe that I truly understand the sector's strengths and challenges. Although nonprofit marketing and branding share basic principles with for-profit marketing, the major difference for nonprofit marketers is learning to merge the head of a business with the heart of a nonprofit mission. It is in this intersection that I am comfortable.
I first began participating in social media in 2004, when I became a senior contributor to MarketingProfs. Subsequently, I have logged gazillions of hours blogging, writing content, and contributing to several online publications. I do not believe that social media marketing is the "be-all" in the marketing world. It needs to be part of an overall marketing strategy that accounts for target audiences and strategic objectives.
My marketing experience began with freelancing for a Canadian ad agency working on Procter & Gamble, Nestlé Carnation, and Kraft projects. I eventually took on senior-level marketing positions for large organizations before relocating to the U.S. and starting my own boutique marketing agency, Solutions Marketing & Consulting LLC. Since 2004, I have contributed marketing-related content to several blogs and publications including MarketingProfs, American Express Open, and SmallBizClub (sponsored by Office Depot).
Without customers, no business or organization can succeed. And, without customer engagement and appreciation, customers don't always stick around. I have written and presented about the importance of a strong customer orientation. In fact, the book I am currently working on is about branding and customer orientation.
All good responses. I have one question for you. Have you developed a marketing plan for your start-up? A good strategy will identify who your target markets are so you can find the most appropriate channels for your tactics. To capture new business leads, you want to both contribute, and participate in, the "right" online spaces.
Elaine was the central reason that my first two National programs were launched so successfully. With a limited budget and limited human resources Elaine worked tirelessly, often well into the evening, to ensure that every detail was taken care of. The results speak for themselves - both programs launched in a matter of months with full branding: logos, materials, hard launch and a media campaign. Much of what I know about marketing and communications is due to Elaine's patient explanations of the steps we were taking. I will be forever grateful to Elaine and I was always consider her my "marketing guru"!
Elaine and I worked together on many marketing-related projects. She is very professional, highly creative and always understood her internal clients' needs while meeting their deadlines and expectations. She was very well respected.
I worked with Elaine on a number of large and important projects and was impressed with her ability to manage a million different details, always efficient, creative and with a smile on her face. I look forward to the chance to work with her again.

I had the great pleasure of studying marketing and social media with Elaine through ASU's Lodestar Center program. She is a wonderful presenter, has a wealth of background and knowledge on the subject, and gave us the confidence that we needed to take the next important steps in this arena.
Over the years I have sat through many conferences and listened to many speakers. Elaine was one of the many, but unlike most of the rest, she's a stand out speaker who engages the audience while presenting an actionable message.
Her presentations are well thought out, extraordinarily well presented and packed with good take away materials/ideas.
If you have the opportunity to attend one of Elaine's workshops, don't hesitate!!

She looks for the best way to maximize every dollar in her budget to get the most ROI possible.
