EB$1.67/min per minuteNew ArrivalOur Unfolding Story of Leadership RetreatsEd Brenegar • Asheville, North Carolina / Ventura, CaliforniaCreated 12 years ago in Skills & Management / OtherEvery leader, leadership team and organization needs a story that reminds them of who they are, what they stand for, and how they understand the difference they create that matters. This retreat is about creating the story of leadership for each person and the collaboration as a team. The retreat is divided into two sections. The first is a visualization of the story, what we used to call a visioning process. It is creating the story around three desires that I've identified we all have. We each desire for Personal Meaning, Happy, Healthy Relationships, and, to Make a Difference that Matters. When a team develops their story around these three desires that create a narrative that transcends the day-to-day situations of change that often distract and derail strategic efforts. The second half of the retreat takes this story and looks at how it can be applied to the team and organization's current situation. The story is more than a brand, it is a guiding vision that unites people around a set of beliefs that form the core of the organization's life. A typical retreat can be done in one day of six to seven hours, or one evening and a morning. Pricing is dependent on size and type of organization.Ed Brenegar Asheville, North Carolina / Ventura, CaliforniaNew Arrival

EB$1.67/min per minuteNew ArrivalCircle of Impact Leadership TrainingEd Brenegar • Asheville, North Carolina / Ventura, CaliforniaCreated 12 years ago in Skills & Management / LeadershipThe pace of change in business is disruptive, ambiguous and unrelenting. So, what is a leader to do who wants to create consistent productivity from her or his team? The leadership models of the past half century are now counter-productive. They assume that organizations can function like they did a generation ago. No longer can leaders count on their the ability to control change. Change cannot be controlled. However, leaders can learn how to adapt to change. For within change are hidden opportunities. The people who see these opportunities are those who are deeply embedded in the operation of the organization, the employees. Circle of Impact Leadership Training is a relationship that provides an experience of adaptive leadership while focusing on the most pressing issues, problems and obstacles facing the organization. The key to this adaptive method is the transition of the mid-level, supervisory, management from a focus on the problems of change into a leadership facilitation core who equip their direct reports to push problem solving lower down into the organizational structure. This happens through the expansion of leadership initiative throughout the organization. This is not a carte blanche ticket for employees do whatever they want. Instead, it is a way to tap into the desire of each person to create impact in their work. Supervisors, as a result, take on a new role of facilitating the leadership initiative of employees. I have learned over two decades of leadership consulting that every organization is unique, and the approach to improvement must fit within the culture of the organization. Therefore, all my projects are custom designed to the clients needs and designated financial resources.Ed Brenegar Asheville, North Carolina / Ventura, CaliforniaNew Arrival

Source: LinkedIn Kent Adcock Mar 20, 2013We hired Ed to assist our large church in performing a assessment of our organization and programs. Ed took us through a very defined and organized process which gathered information from the various groups within the church using various techiniques. Ed was able to filter the results into a very susinct report with actionable recommendations. He also jump started the implementation by leading a workshop with our leadership focused on the recommendations. We would definitely utilized Ed's services again in the future.
Source: LinkedIn Martin Metzker Mar 20, 2013Ed was able to quickly understand my business objectives and develop action plans to meet those objectives. He understands the need for collaboration within an environment and was an excellent facilitator.
Source: LinkedIn Scott Kelly Mar 20, 2013I consider Ed a thought leader, and everyone who has heard him speak,or read his writing also knows this. I've participated in several panels with Ed, and he has remarkable ideas that are informed by a greater context of history and our current situation. He is a man who stands out.
Ed has a mission in life to help others and a curiosity for the cutting edge.
Source: LinkedIn Ty Hallock Mar 20, 2013Ed led our church, First Presbyterian of Natchez, Mississippi, through a leadership development process that resulted in transformation of our entire congregation as we created a vision for the future. We are now moving quickly through many of the implementation phases as a result of the attitudinal and self awareness changes that occurred through the process. Confidence and clarity of direction were the end result.
Ed brings to his engagements the creativity, experience and personality to effectively design a development process that is uniquely suited to the client organization and its leadership.
Source: LinkedIn Bazile Lanneau Jr Mar 20, 2013I recommend Dr. Ed Brenegar for consideration as a Leadership expert and consultant. I hired Ed to conduct a session called; "Managing Change when the Future is Unknown." This was a webinar session for over 250 Gannett managers. The exit survey results indicated the timeliness and relevance of the difficulty topic. Bottom-line, Ed did an excellent job for us and I offer him a strong recommendation.
Virgil Smith
Source: LinkedIn Virgil Smith Mar 20, 2013I have worked with Ed for almost 3 years. We brought him into the company to help facilitate a corporate values statement. In this engagement, Ed developed a plan that included bringing a group of individuals together (at all levels, union and management, diverse), creating a foundational understanding of corporate values; facilitating discussions, focus groups and interviews to gain insight on what values we wanted to embrace; and developing implementation plans to roll out these values. The process and results could not have been better and Ed gained the confidence, appreciation and trust of the team and executives. This trust and confidence helped Ed navigate through some choppy waters at times. Becuase of his great work on this engagement we brought him back to be a coach for our executive team to help us build stronger and more effective relationships across the team. Ed's candor, expertise and ability to work well with the executive team helped us achieve stronger relationships and higher performance as a team. Ed is great to work with, is extremely customer focused, and appropriately uses technology to support his work. No question that we got great value from Ed and his results exceeded our expectations.

Source: LinkedIn Meridith Elliott Powell Mar 20, 2013The keys to successful relationships are pretty clear, but not easy to do. You need to be honest, respectful, generous, giving, appreciative, vulnerable, and be willing to have a relationship of mutual responsibility. You have to decide that to be with this person requires you to change, to sacrifice some of what you've come to expect, in order to have a mutually beneficial relationship. On top of that, I'd look for someone who is happy, has a genuine concern for others, and has a set of values that can be described in the context of their lifestyle. Third, look for someone whose life experience has some compatible connections. Same education level, same vacation interests, etc.
Are these high standards? Of course, an entrepreneur wouldn't want to have it any other way. Correct? But they are worth living up to them in order to find someone to join you as a partner.
Strategic clarity is a product of strategic thinking, rather than strategic planing. It comes from being clear about who you are, what values you bring to the company or the project, and what the outcome should be.
I visualize strategic clarity as being able to walk into any situation and know what you must do. This means more than having a mission statement, or organizational values. It is more like having a story that provides a way to define who you are and why you do the things you do.
