Previous to Alpha, Dane was the VP of Global Business Development at the ‘#1 App Development Company in the World’, Sourcebits. (ranked by greatagencies.com) Sourcebits raised $10 million from Sequoia and IDG and built apps the led to over $2 billion worth of acquisitions, 1 billion+ downloads worldwide and 20 of the top 100 apps in the Apple App Store. The joint revenue between Sourcebits and its parent company was $70 million+ per year and operates internationally with 1,800 full-time employees across the globe with a growth rate exceeding 35% CAGR since inception.
Previous to Sourcebits, Dane was the Director of Growth Strategy & Business Development for Appster. Dane was employee #6 and was sent to San Francisco from Australia as US employee #1 to set up the US operations from the ground up. Whilst there he helped grow the company to over 350 full-time staff across 3 time zones with $58 million in revenue in 3 years (with no outside investment).
Whilst at Appster Dane was a consultant to the former Deputy Director of the FBI, Kevin R. Brock, and negotiated a deal that secured Brock as a Cyber Security Advisor on the board alongside the founding CFO of Paypal, David Jacques and CCO of Virgin, Liz Savage. Dane was responsible for driving growth and revenue which led to 30+ Product Design awards including Webby Awards, W3 Gold Awards, and Davey Gold Awards.
Dane is also the Co-Founder of the notable Silicon Valley organization 'DoubleTap Ventures' which is a select entry community of startup founders and CEOs with a combined total of over $850M in funding. DoubleTap Ventures is also officially backed and sponsored by IBM.
