Brandon Eley presented at LaGrange College on Social Media as it relates to employment and professional branding, and he did not disappoint. All of the students were engaged, taking notes, and were able to take away information that they can put to use. On the evaluations students stated: “Very informational and helpful information that will be put in affect.” “This has influenced me to go to my profiles and make them more professional friendly.” “Awesome.” If you are looking for an informative and engaging presentation – I highly recommend Brandon Eley to be your next Social Media speaker.

I have worked with many professionals who are great at what they do. Rarely do I listen to someone speak on a subject matter and leave thinking that what I just heard may completely change an aspect of my company. After attending a one hour lunch and learn where Brandon was speaking on the use of Social Media to improve your presence in your industry, I left thinking that I had just experienced such a moment. When I arrived back at my office, I logged into LinkedIn for the first time in months and realized that a current client that I was working with had recently tried to look at my profile. This client is crucial to a new direction I am looking to take my company. Brandon was completely accurate in his presentation, and his advice has already began to change the way I approach Social Media. Choosing to listen to and work with this gifted speaker and marketing specialist was and will continue to be a prized resource for my company.

I could go on and on about Brandon's high quality attributes, or I could just say one thing that proves my opinion of the type of person he is.

I had the honor of co-authoring a book with Brandon, and I couldn't think of anyone I'd be more proud to share some space with one the cover of something I'll cherish forever.

Put simply, Brandon is one of the best people that I know. I am honored to count him among my very best and most trusted friends. This is no smoke. He's not my "Facebook friend," he's my legitimate, real, dependable, trustworthy friend. This sort of relationship is not built in a day, but is built over years - nearly a decade now - of interaction with him, on both a personal and professional level.

He is smart, passionate and personable. I have seen Brandon speak multiple times and know that he speaks from a wealth of experience and knowledge that you only receive from first hand involvement. He was crushing it before Gary Vaynerchuk put that term into the entrepreneurial vernacular, running both a successful agency (and later, merging with and working at a larger, successful agency) and a successful e-commerce business. All while being a committed family man. Somehow, he also finds time to speak and write.

He puts in the time to deliver a presentation that offers value and leads the room in a productive, efficient manner. He invests in every event he speaks at. He doesn't just show up for his talk and then leave as soon as he is able to get away. Wherever he speaks, he builds relationships.

If you are looking for an online marketing, e-commerce, mobile, social media or just general business speaker, I can't recommend Brandon highly enough.

Brandon spoke to our local AAF chapter in Mobile about a year ago. While social media is a fairly common topic these days, the meeting's attendance was the highest of the entire year. We enjoyed his presentation so much that we invited him to speak again to AAF District 7 when the conference was held in Mobile last April. Brandon is a polished speaker with the skills needed to tailor his presentation precisely to his audience. I would highly recommend him as a speaker for organizations of any size.

Brandon's comprehensive expertise in online marketing is second to none. As a business owner and marketer, Brandon has a unique understanding of what it takes to succeed in business. His book, Online Marketing Inside Out, is a wonderful resource for anyone who is looking to sell online. And, in a sea of self-proclaimed "experts," Brandon is the real thing.

I had heard about Brandon and seen his writing in the SitePoint email newsletter and while we were filling out our speaker roster for the 2010 ConvergeSE.com conference his name kept coming up as someone we should talk to, seeing as how he is based in Atlanta, GA. After more research and checking personal sources online it looked like Brandon was going to be a great presenter and seemed very professional and knowledgeable.

Brandon turned out to be one of the better presenters i've seen, he was very well prepared and gave the crowd plenty of great advice and take away information that they could go home and work with right away. What's more his talk was rooted in his real world experience which most presenters are generally academic in their subject matter. To top it all off he's one of the most likable guys i've ever met.

To sum up: Top-notch presenter, very knowledgeable, uses real world examples, really nice guy - your audience won't be disappointed.

Brandon recently spoke at a luncheon for Women Intelligently Networking (WIN!)® on email marketing and he was fantastic! The information he provided was easy to understand while teaching practical and powerful marketing strategies. He went over topics such as the value of segmenting email lists, the pros and cons of various email service providers, the law and opt-in emails and provided MANY a-ha moments for the attendees. He was a tremendous asset to our event and any event organizer should sincerely consider him as a speaker - he is sure to wow attendees with easy to implement ideas and great takeaways while being extremely humble despite truly being an expert.

Brandon Eley, E-commerce veteran with 25 years of experience answered:

Short answer: No one can help you without knowing more about your website.

Long answer: There are two sides of your e-commerce business and either or both could need improvement. You have visitor acquisition (getting people to your site) and conversion (turning those visitors into customers). I'll touch on each just a little.

Visitor Acquisition: How many visitors do you have to your website? Where are they coming from? You want qualified traffic... meaning the people visiting are actively looking to actually buy some art. You can buy 100,000 clicks on Fiverr but it won't convert. You can find targeted qualified traffic on paid search engines like Google or Bing, on Facebook and other social channels, and through organic search engine optimization. Once you've got a good stream of traffic to your site then you can look at converting them into customers...

Customer Conversion: The average e-commerce conversion rate across all verticals is around 2%, but it's much lower for luxury goods, high priced items, electronics or any other products that typically require more thought that goes into the purchase. What's your e-commerce conversion rate? (if you don't have e-commerce tracking setup in Google Analytics you can just take your # of sales / number of unique visitors over a period of time).

There are a lot of factors that affect conversion. Is your site trustworthy? Is it secure? Are your products featured well, so visitors can get a really good idea of what they are purchasing? What is your return policy? How much is shipping? When will customers receive their items?

There are lots of reasons why your site might not be converting, but without seeing it I can't make specific recommendations. If you are getting lots of visitors (thousands per month) and making no sales, you need to focus on improving your website to increase your conversion rate (also known as Conversion Rate Optimization or CRO). If you don't have much traffic at all, like just a few hundred per month, then you need to focus on getting more qualified traffic either through social media, PR, organic search engine optimization or though paid ads.
