I've been lucky to be involved with a string of early-stage companies that experienced hyper growth, including one and a half unicorns, so far. Apart from having exposed me to some spectacularly talented people, those experiences informed a philosophy and an empirical model for pursuing growth that I apply in my work and enjoy sharing at talks.

My approach is to get my head around the "system" at the level that is most inclusive of the factors that influence that system. In this case, "system" being the parts of a software application and the dynamics through which it engages with its users and the environment in which they operate. This perspective informs the installation of telemetry. That telemetry drives experimentation in high-impact-potential areas of the system.

The skills and talent Jack brought to FriendFinder greatly contributed to the growth and success of the company. Jack & I were part of the founding team. I have to say, though product and engineering team played very big role in chiseling v2.0 of Eventbrite, it was Jack's attention to detail and his unique style of conveying the message through social and other digital media brought Eventbrite user community closer to us, to stay connected with the community and eventually with an eye and ear for more customer acquisition through metrics driven approach in a cost effective fashion. I was genuinely impressed by his passion, creativity and enthusiasm during my time at Eventbrite. He will be an asset to any early to mid-stage technology startups.
