I am a certified Social Worker (1043208) registered with the South African Council for Social Service Professions (SACSSP). I have completed two degrees at the University of Cape Town - a Bachelor of Arts in Film, Media and Print Production (2010) (UCT), and a Bachelor in Social Work (2016) (UCT). I am currently furthering my expertise, studying my Masters in Clinical Social Work at the University of Johannesburg.
After studying my first degree and graduating in 2010, I went on to work as a Photojournalist. I never thought that I would find myself back at university; however my dream of helping others and making a difference encouraged me to follow my heart and drive in order to get there. Over the years establishing networks and affiliations has allowed me to collaborate with different professionals, individuals and corporates, coming together to develop, empower and create sustainable change. Through my Masters I aim to become the best practitioner that I can be in order to follow my calling. I aim for the stars, always giving every task my best - I believe that anything is possible, and that if you do not try, you will never know.
My passion for this profession is reflected in my academic results, my work in the communities, and my determination and drive. I am particularly interested in gender, sexuality, culture, empowerment, equality, social and human development, mental health and well-being.
With my experience, knowledge and skills in a variety social work settings - alongside my experience in fundraising, marketing, project planning and project development for NPO and NGO sectors - I am able to offer advice, guidance and support regarding NPO/NGO/charity development, management and marketing.
