While completing my degree in Finance, I was able to grasp many of the required concepts in providing financial advice and interpreting financial concepts, including: GAAP compliance, internal and external controls, budgeting and forecasting. I have experience in tracking financial payments and collecting from students when I served as VP of Finance for my University's DECA chapter. I was also responsible for procuring and arranging materials and equipment for society events. In my final year of University, I competed at the DECA U Provincials Competition and placed 4th of 58 in the Management Consulting category. I was tasked with providing various alternatives to a PR concern for a national grocer while maintaining cost and time efficiency and was able to provide five options and present my recommendation based on the pros and cons of each. When I served as Treasurer on the Board of Directors for a condominium corporation, I was tasked with weighing different options to undertake a major pool reconstruction project which ran into the hundreds of thousands of dollars. While serving, I was also bonded by the corporation. And of course, I have expert knowledge in Microsoft Office, namely PowerPoint, Word, Excel, and Outlook, through my years of practice in high school, University, and work experience.
Some of my primary qualities based on past job performance are leadership, working independently, attention to detail, customer service, great oral and written communication, strategic planning, strong organizational skills, and strong analytical/critical thinking skills. I have held three jobs in the past few years where my primary concern was customer satisfaction. I worked as a Sales Associate ensuring every customer was greeted, assisted, and provided a seamless shopping experience. I was a Supervisor overseeing the operation of an entire facility and managing employees. I have also worked as Workforce Management Associate scheduling appointments for telecommunication repairs and installs, coordinating with field managers and technicians, and being constantly available on the phones, taking up to 150 calls daily. In every position I have held, there are times when being highly analytical is required to resolve an issue or provide in-depth feedback. I have many more experiences and a diverse area of expertise.
