I learnt a lot from Sander whilst working with him. He exudes the essence of what it is to work at a start-up - and yet brings a level of normality and order to the table too.

Sander brings with him an enormous wealth of experience and professionalism in any environment he joins.

I have been impressed by his skills as a manager for the entire operations team at Joost: from high-level contract negotiations, to getting his hands dirty and making sure that all servers are up-and running, Sander has always been excellent.

Also, Sander's dedication to his job is second to none. Whenever we had any problem, regardless whether he was directly responsible or not, or what day or time it was, he has always been going beyond his normal duties to make sure that those were solved.

Working with him has been a pleasure, and after more than one year working together, I'm happy to call him now my friend.

Sander is a clear thinking technologist with great judgement and above all, wisdom. His insight into technical problems was invaluable more than once, and I would count any organization fortunate to have him on their team.

Sander and I worked togther for a brief period at MP3. He was a pleasure to work with and a brilliant engineer.

I worked with Sander at MP3.com and was impressed with the breadth of his skills particularly concerning server/network architecture and digital media. He was one of the top (if not the top) digital media experts at MP3.com and was instrumental in the site's architecture. Sander is also a good teacher. He goes out of his way to help people who may not have the same expertise.

Sander is a SUPER GENIUS!!!

When I got to MP3.com, Sander was the go-to guy for all things Apache. While we worked together, Sander standardized our random collection of Apache builds into a single build tree with common configurations. He was also always able to help me with any kind of issues I encountered with Apache.

From the non-technologist point of view, I found Sander to be extremely helpful and solutions-oriented no matter what the problem. Moreover, he is one of the most creative people I've ever met. "Eccentric Genius" is not a cliche when describing this guy.

Sander is brilliant from a technology side. He truly added to the success of MP3.com and a great contributor to the Open Source community. He is also a pleasure to work with.

A tireless innovator, cool-headed under pressure, and an outstanding human being to say nothing of engineering skills, Sander was in every way the person you wanted to tackle business-critical technology in the best and worst of times.
