Yet, having worked on Inbound Marketing strategies with multiple clients, one of my most important lessons learned is about expectation management. In my experience, clients often expect Inbound Marketing as the holy grail of their marketing and sales efforts. They see it as a turnkey solution that will - once set up properly - deliver qualified inbound leads and new customers indefinitely without much further input. In my opinion, however, it takes a lot of effort to get Inbound Marketing right. It is indeed a powerful methodology that can yield great benefits for B2B and B2C companies alike, but it has to be treated as a company-wide mindset of how to approach marketing and sales. Only if a company is ready to commit time and resources to implement, test, learn, and continuously optimize their inbound strategy and toolkit, it will achieve the desired results. And, this is particularly true for the implementation of tools such as HubSpot. If used properly, HubSpot can be an invaluable marketing and sales tool. Yet, only if a company has done its Inbound Marketing homework beforehand, it will deliver high-quality results.
