Scott was a value-added investor and board member. He was heavily engaged with product strategy, financing, exploring possible business models, customer acquisition - basically all the functions of building a business. As an early stage company, Scott really balanced product emphasis while looking out for where the business could go. It was refreshing to find a board member really using the product and working tirelessly to ensure he was a team member just like us. If I had the opportunity, I would have Scott involved in any company I start.
Scott was a board member at Savored during the time I was there. Scott was great for the company. He very effectively managed the line between being an active board member vs being a meddler. Scott allowed us to run our business while lending his strong operational skills and knowledge when needed. Unlike other startups I've been a part of, Scott's input and influence was welcome amongst the management team. Whether it was pricing structures or business model challenges he always brought good perspective and challenged us to think bigger. I got to know Scott when I was raising money for Producteev. He was a big believer, and we quickly started to work together on a regular basis. He helped me in so many ways... I can't even recall all of them, but just to name a few : subscription and pricing strategy, business model, SAAS acquisition funnels, fundraising, M&A... He was there during good and bad times, simply available ALL THE TIME for me. He was also very insightful in everything product and marketing related, and led me to make some important decisions for the business that worked out well.
