Served as the Executive of the organization and Chair of the Board of Directors with 18 Board members to provide short-term and long-term strategic oversight. Managed 5 paid staff members. Oversaw the day-to-day operations of a $2MM non-profit enterprise including store operations, volunteer engagement, community partnerships, fund development, leadership development and financial operations. Served as the official spokeswoman and representative at internal and public events.
Led 19 staff members and ~900 volunteer members through the COVID-19 crisis, including keeping essential staff engaged, furloughing 17 staff members, waiving the remaining commitments for members, managing two retail stores, launching virtual activities and events to maintain member engagement and training/transitioning to new leaders at the Junior League of Richmond.
Key Accomplishments:
- Developed a new three year strategic plan and implementation plan
- Engaged with 9 dedicated Community Advisory Board members who helped vet our strategic plan and community impact recommendation
- Changed our community focus area to Women Helping Women & Girls, which included reviewing our existing community programs and courageously sunsetting three programs
- Established a Community quasi-endowment to maintain funds for future programs for Women Helping Women and Girls
- Hosted 66 community events equating in 2,150 volunteer hours and $59,125 dollars
- Partnered with more than ten new community organizations for volunteer opportunities
- Achieved $450k in CR sales
- Achieved record-breaking Touch-a-Truck fundraiser revenue of $55,980 through $26,410 in ticket sales and $39,350 in sponsorships
- Raised $52,441 for the annual fund, an 8% increase over LY
- Conducted a needs assessment for our internal staff operations, determined ways to invest in our staff and we are developing standard operating procedures for all roles
- Purchased a mobile truck and revamped it to be the Rolling Rack, a mobile extension of our brick & mortar stores
- Launched the Scavenger Haunt that took over a key part of town and raised $1,500
- Moved our 75th Book & Author event to a virtual event with $34,640 in net profit
- Created and held our first leadership breakfast that focused on empowering women leaders while raising over $15,000 for JLR and having over 140 attendees
- Held 1st advocacy day in many years to promote awareness around human trafficking
- Created a public health emergency management team to lead the League through the current and any future health crisis
- Held our first legislative meet and greet as part of a membership meeting with 6 state legislators in attendance
