He is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP) with the Project Management Institute (PMP) and he has also completed studies in design thinking, and patenting.

Rikus has been an innovation consultant for the past 10 years and he has owned and operated a number of businesses, and he has designed and prototyped a number of products as well as drafted provisional patent applications for these products.
