MenuDoes reverse proxy create a slower page speed and navigation?
If so, how significant is it? The main domain is on AWS/IIS with the impression that the subfolder contains a WordPress site hosted at SiteGround.
Answers
I host 100s of high traffic, high speed, WordPress sites.
If a client asked me this question... I'd say...
This type of spaghetti setup is okay for a hobby site. Not for a real + money generating + pay your bills type of project.
For real (money generating) projects. Keep tech simple.
I run straight up Apache + FPM PHP + sites I host load test at roughly 1.1M request/minute throughput. You read that right.
There's all sorts of myths about what's required for fast sites.
My guess, 99.999% of everything written about fast sites is written by people who've never run a high traffic site or don't understand how to setup sites to isolation + fix slow points.
Do yourself a favor + hire someone smart to host your site.
In the long run, you'll save a truckload of money.
Reverse proxies can have a negative impact on page speed. It is difficult to completely answer your question without additional information such as:
Why is there a reverse proxy at all?
How significant is the performance degradation?
If you are interested, I can get on a call with you.
Depends on your specific setup and use-case. If you use AWS Load-Balancing you will get a managed service that will autoscale and will only have such a small latency that you can only measure it on a network point of view (milliseconds).
The advantage of using AWS Loadbalancing is that you will get detailed metrics that give you a detailed overview about latency, error rate on each of your services behind the reverse proxy. This way you can easily find the bottleneck.
Another possibility would be to setup a nginx reverse proxy running on EC2 instance. This way you could enable caching functions for specific locations and your reverse proxy will cache request. This way your reverse proxy can dramatically improve your perfomance but you might need to have rules for auto-scaling if you have a high traffic site...

Are there any best practices for estimating web traffic based on an estimated user base?
I personally have had success with the Google Keyword Finder. This is part of the Google Adwords program for estimating keyword traffic and since Google has statistics on everyone's surfing and search habits, this is your best bet. My advice to you is that before you try estimating server traffic for your marketplace, select 5 to 10 short and long tail keywords that you want to target and then use Google's Keyword Finder to look at the search traffic. I hope this helps. BruceBC

Looking for grant of AWS Credits? Startups focusing on Blue Collar jobs based out of India has already been granted the AWS Startups Credits.
The credits that you already received are under AWS Activate Founders. Quoting from the AWS website, "If you have previously received AWS Activate Founders benefits, you are ineligible to apply again. You can only receive AWS Activate Founders benefits once." However, check if you are eligible for their AWS Activate Portfolio Program. https://aws.amazon.com/activate/portfolio/ This provides $100,000 USD in AWS Credits.PJ

How to change item info if it wasn't created by you on Amazon?
List your item against the wrong UPC code. This provided Amazon with all the correct information, including the correct photo. Then go back and mark your inventory at zero.. keep an eye on this as you don't want to sell the item as you might not have the wrong item to ship. Then email Amazon with the ASIN number and explain that you have piggybacked on the listing based on the UPC code but the detail page reflects the wrong item. Let them know that you have removed your inventory till this can be worked out. I included photos to show the UPC for the correct item. Ask Amazon to cleave the listing so you can list your item. Amazon cleaved the ASIN. I had never heard that term. What Amazon did was split the listings and assigned a new ASIN to the listing I started. This allowed both listings for one UPC code while Amazon looking into the questionable listing. You have to have a UPC code to list an item... or you need an exception from Amazon. You can't take an item that has a UPC code and add a non-UPC code item as a variation. The photos are slower than the text. When starting a new listing, the photos don't even start to be loaded until you have completed the listing. Just the way Amazon's system works.LS

Would love advice on book arbitrage and best practices?
Book arbitrage can be a great way to make extra income with Amazon FBA but it's not for everybody. While I don't have specific experience with the program you posted, I looked at the web page to see what they are all about. First, the link opened 10 identical browser tabs which is pretty suspect and feels spammy. Their program is specifically geared to finding cheap books on Amazon that have few or no FBA sellers. You buy the books and relist them as an FBA seller at a higher price then pocket the difference. I don't have any experience with this type of arbitrage so I can't say if it's a profitable method. If you're just starting out, I would go to places like library book sales and Goodwill to find cheap books. There is a big movement right now for college students to find alternative sources for textbooks since they can be extremely expensive. This is an excellent opportunity to find cheap textbooks locally and sell them on Amazon. You make money and the buyer saves money vs. buying from a bookstore. If you're considering buying this program, I would strongly recommend doing more research as there is a wealth of free information out there on book arbitrage.NC

Best way to sell stock of disposable face masks coronvirus/covid19
Not my exact area of expertise but we went through something similar here in Asia where sellers rushed to clear stock before the government stepped in with price and export controls. If you have the logistics set up already then you could quickly sell them on: * Facebook marketplace. * eBay. * Amazon yes, but run the risk of them closing down your account. * Local classifieds and Craigslist. * Reddit though just be wary of each subreddit's advertising policies. As for how to package them, the most popular configurations I have seen here are 5-packs or 10-packs as they need to be changed on a regular basis.AL
