MenuHow exactly can I get clients for my monthly social media writing service?
Answers
Hi, I've spent my career in Business to Business sales.
If you're not willing to make sales calls or deal with clients yourself, there are really only two options:
1. Create an interface for order taking and rely on marketing efforts.
2. Figure out a way to pay others to make the sales calls for you.
For option 1, think of all the sales pages online which pitch a product and then invite the reader to make a purchase. Different marketing efforts can be employed to drive traffic. If your service is in demand and at the right price point, people may choose to just sign up. It works for a lot of businesses.
Option 2 involves making deals with salespeople. Do you know what the most loved words are in the world of sales? RESIDUAL INCOME.
Find complementary service providers or salespeople who are not afraid to knock on doors and offer them a cut of the monthly fee... forever.
Imagine how motivated a salesperson would be if every successful sale netted them $100/m. By the time they hit 100 sales, they'd be enjoying a nice income and so would you.
Best of all, there is no limit to the number of people you can have working under this system... it scales.
Arrange a call if you'd like to explore some ideas specific to your situation, I've helped other entrepreneurs get their client journey and sales processes in order.
Thanks

Hello,
I think that this a problem that can easily be worked around to suit your skills. I myself, am also sort of an introvert. For finding new clients, I have always found that going online and finding businesses that I would want to have as clients, has worked for me the best.
After learning more about their business, you can 'cold email' them. I have found that this a good approach for me because I can effectively lay out my service to the potential client and it allows them to respond to me on their own time; whereas forcing them to accept a cold call. The same approach can work by finding social media accounts for businesses that are lacking and then Tweeting/Messaging them about your business and how it can benefit them.
I believe that offering someone a reward for finding clients for you is a viable option, but I think that you can still be an introvert and be successful in finding clients.
I hope that these were some options that you will consider, if you have not already. If I can help in any other way, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Find SEO/SEM companies and partner with them. They have a need for your services for their clients. You can offer them a small percentage of your monthly revenue for each client they bring to you.
Do the same with web development firms. For direct outreach get on LinkedIn and search for small to mid-sized companies and get in touch with the marketing VP or directory and offer your service to them directly as well.
Simultaneously, you should also start actively employing SEO on your site so that you can eventually rank for keywords related to social media marketing.
People are already actively looking for what you are doing and being found on page 1 for an organic search is going to bring you all the leads you can handle. That's a long term strategy though.
Try the JV/Partnership route first and leverage other people's networks for your services. Most, if not all of this requires you do nothing but email and maybe a few phone calls to close a partnership deal.
If you have a budget you can also run ads on LinkedIn and Facebook but first, consult with someone who can show you how to do that the right way without spending a ton of money for no results which is incredibly easy to do :)
So there's a lot of different ways you could do this, you could do this via cold e-mailing business you think would be a good fit with a sequence explaining the benefits of posting daily to Facebook and Twitter, The Potential ROI, and the benefit of hiring you to do it rather than managing it themselves or hiring another freelancer. You can also find plenty of people looking for this service on places like upwork, linkedin groups, and facebook groups. Lead with value and benefits and you'll win more clients.
If you want more help I'm happy to hop on a call.
I have helped coach dozens of people in your shoes. Build a community of people on social media who want your service, post helpful content to them, do FB Lives so they get to know you, and run local meetup.com boosted seminars at your local library (free rooms) so you can teach your stuff and you'll get hot leads from there.
Message me if you want more details and good luck.
By understanding why people come to social media in the first place.
1. Personal Use: Individuals can use the social media for personal reasons, which may be for keeping in touch with the latest technology, news, gossip, and happenings around the world or in their own locality. Social media is also fast replacing the traditional means of communications.
2. Explore Your Creativity: People can use this media to explore their own creativity, for example, a person who loves to write can create their own blogs and explore their writing talents. Blogs are the best way for individuals to express themselves, their views, and opinions on all subjects.
3. Social Interaction: Human beings love to socialise and interact with each other. The social media enables people to interact with each other using the universally accessible and scalable communication techniques that are available today, in the form of websites and the mobile phones.
4. Get Empowered: The social media has succeeded in putting the power back into the consumer’s hands. As mentioned in the paragraph above, any individual can have a “social influence” by virtue of his/her social interactions on the web or via mobile technologies.

What are some marketing strategies we can use to reach new customers?
Start with creating your USP (aka Message). This message will be the statement that sums up the reasons for doing business with you from THEIR perspective based on what THEY want (versus why YOU think they should do business with you). It may feature a unique ability your company can provide - some feature or benefit or experience that they either can't get anywhere else or that you do better than anyone else - and I'd strongly suggest it NOT be based on your low pricing. To do this - get very clear about what pain (or problem) your business gets rid of (or solves) and what promise you make to your market. For example: When you say "excellent quality" and "affordable"... what exactly does that mean and why should your market care? -How will they KNOW it's "excellent" (according to them)? And do they want excellent? Maybe they want fast... -What does "quality" mean and how will they know? If you fix my cellphone and it works... How is that qualitatively different from anyone else fixing my phone? Isn't fixed the same as fixed? -What is "affordable"? And affordable for whom? Lastly - When you say "specialize" - and then say cellphone and tablet repair... Does that mean you specialize in ALL cellphones and tablets? Because when you say "cellphones and tablets" it sounds more like you generalize in a type of handheld electronic product. A specialist is an expert in a small area of products or services. Think deep and narrow. For example - You can specialize in repairing a certain brand - Such as "we specialize exclusively in the repair of Samsung cellphones and tablets"... Or you can specialize in the repair of devices running on the Android platform.... (you get the idea) Once you find your USP - use it in all of your inbound and outbound marketing platforms. I wish you the best of luck in your marketing efforts! -DavidDB

About to launch our new eCommerce website selling well priced unique watches. What is the best initial marketing strategy to use with minimal cost?
Here are some answers for you that I believe will help you. 1. You should implement a long term and short term strategy right at the beginning. What I mean is that there are essential parts to your marketing like SEO and content marketing that you need to implement right in the beginning, but will take a while to filter through, but these are essential if you want to have organic traffic. That would be L-T. The best for Short term for a newly launched site is ad's. Word of warning though. Know your customers demographics such as age, income, education etc, know your competitors demographics and then find the platform (such as social media channels) where your ideal customer is based on those researched demographics and then roll out targeted ad's for them. 2. You have to implement social media strategies right from the beginning of course, based on your demographic research. 3. Get busy Blogging - start with content marketing now. 4. Sweepstakes - start a giveaway to get traction with clients and create awareness. 5. Make sure you collect emails as these are like gold dust for future email marketing. 6. Video marketing is essential for competitive retail space and very powerful to get found on search engines like Google. Prior to me launching my digital marketing business 5 years ago, I built an online retail business and made many expensive mistakes. And they can be costly if not implemented correctly from the beginning. So in summary: SEO - very important, Ad's, Social Media, Sweepstakes, Blogging, Video & email marketing. I trust this will assist you. Let me know if you wish to have a call to discuss these or have follow up questions. Regards KennethKT

Which link shortener should we use in our social sharing strategy to track our Analytics?
I might suggest starting with Bitly and exploring the possibility of getting a custom branded shortener, which you can set up through Bitly once the domain is purchased. For example, my website is philpallen.com but I shorten all links to philp.al/link so it's more professional. I feel like many other shorteners look like spam, but I'd say your safe with Bitly because it's widely used. A custom one would be even better!PP

How did Snapchat boast a solid user base within a short period of time, compared to Facebook and Twitter?
I've been in the picture messaging space for a while now with my apps Lutebox (voted one of London's top ten most loved apps) and now Click Messenger. I've written a few articles about the space including a recent post about the Future of Mobile Messaging. Snapchat started out as an app called Picaboo, which pretty much did what it does now (prior to the latest update with chat and video calling). They quickly rebranded but saw a little uptake in user numbers and had quite low downloads for several months. Then around Christmas 2011 one of the founders' mom had told her friend about the app, who told her kid and her kid basically then spread the word throughout their high school in L.A. That was what really blew up their download numbers as it spread across teenagers at local high schools. As far as I know they didn't advertise in the early days, relied solely on word of mouth. Also it is assumed that they have a solid user base. Comparatively speaking, their user base may be in the low tens of millions, which may a great base of users, but nowhere even close to being as big as Facebook or Twitter. I'd be happy to speak about this in more detail or about the picture messaging landscape and what I believe to be the future of mobile messaging.AA

Is it possible to start a Social Media Marketing Agency with not much experience in Social Media and not much money?
I have to ask why you would start an agency in an area you don't have much experience in. Perhaps you'd be better off getting at least a little experience first?AV
