It is a tough job, really painful sometimes however when it starts showing gains then it becomes pleasure. Real Estate is a highly paying profitable business when managed appropriately.
Here are some potential pains and gains for real estate auction houses and cash buyers:
For auction houses:
Pains:
high upfront costs to market properties and run auctions
risk of properties not selling or selling for less than reserve price
Potential legal or title issues if properties have liens or other encumbrances
Gains:
ability to liquidate large portfolios of properties quickly
opportunity to reach new buyer pools beyond traditional MLS listings
Commissions earned on successful auction sales
For cash Buyers:
Pains:
Properties Properties sold "as-is" with limited inspection and contingency periods
Competition from other buyers can drive prices higher
Potential hidden issues found after purchase without repairs credit
Gains:
First look at off-market distressed properties before wider marketing
Convenience of all-cash offers without financing contingencies
opportunity to purchase below market value in competitive bidding
ability to renovate and resell for profit with short turnaround
Overall, auctions provide the benefits of expedited transactions for sellers but also risks for buyers. Cash buyers have the upside of unique inventory access but the downside of limited protections. Both can profit from deals, but pains include potential costs, legal issues, and competitive bidding pressures.

Back when I started LinkedIn wasn't as huge as it is now. I wish it was. I didn't have a large network and those networking sessions NEVER brought me any clients. I used to go to all sorts of them hoping to get clients. There were a couple of nibbles here and there, but never anything serious. The only thing that helped was reaching out DIRECTLY to people in my target market. That meant cold calls and cold emails. I'd sell myself while thinking about their needs. Once I got a few bites I'd build good rapport by keeping in touch, asking questions, repeating back what they were saying so that they knew I was on the same page and kept my promises. If I said I'd call them back next Tuesday at 2:15 I'd do so. Eventually I built trust with them without having a network, or an insane amount of experience. Oh and the most important thing about consulting is to LISTEN. When those first clients notice that you're truly listening and you're not selling the cookie cutter solutions everyone else is trying to sell them that's when you got them hooked. You start to understand their problems, fears, and see through their eyes and not just yours. A network will help, but in the beginning just good 'ol salesmanship will get the ball rolling.JC

What an awesome question! Businesses are running into this issue more frequently that ever, good news is, it can be done. Having worked on projects with oDesk, Fox Television and Wikipedia and having a very very small staff, it's certainly possible. Here's how I say it in our pitches to larger organizations: "Tractive West provides tailored video production services to organizations of all sizes. We have developed a distributed workflow using the latest digital tools. We leverage our small creative and management team with a world wide network of creative professionals, that means we can rapidly scale to meet the demands of any project while keeping our infrastructure and overhead lightweight and sustainable." STOP. DO NOT DO THIS.... I would never want help from someone like you. Don't get me wrong -- you aren't evil (that I know about) but you don't seem have any value that I could pay for. What would you be "consulting" a CEO like me about? How do you expect to make my business better when you don't have a clue about your own business? THAT'S THE TRUTH... Fuck the truth. If you want to get clients then you hustle -- every waking moment. You try an angle and fail and then try a different angle. You can't outsmart your way to bigger results. 2 plus 2 does not equal 4 -- it equals you going bankrupt. If you want to be successful then you need to exert massive amounts of effort to get off the ground. So get your ass out there and start asking everyone you meet: "What is that one big accounting question that's been bothering you for some time now? If I can't help you i'll buy you a cup of coffee" Then just go be a badass...DW
