MenuWhat is the best streaming TV platform to reach your target market if you had your own streaming TV channel: Roku, Chromecast, AmazonFire, or AppleTV?
I started to develop Roku channels for my clients to help them marketing their businesses and to reach a wider audience, but I am curious if I should also take on developing streaming TV channels for the other platforms such as Chromecast, AmazonFire, or AppleTV,
Who here has streaming TV and what platform do you have?
Answers
This is a great question. I personally use Apple TV. And only use about 1:8 of their apps.
I'm curious about your work. Please provide me with info ;)
This is an I teresring market. Personally I have Chrome casr and Roku.
In my business work we are building Chromecast integrations to ease users ability to watch on mobile or push to their local TV. We also have built a few Roku channels as the platform has a lower barrier to developers.
AppleTV and KindleFire appear to have decent audience sizes but no where near the amount of channels available to watch/listen.
My feeling is that someone will start to team up with another and double audience side , giving way to more opportunity to engage. Similar to the cable & satellite battle happening with AT&T and DirecTV against Brifhthouse & Xfinity.
The technology is here, how do we make it easier for viewers to consume it.

Do startups like Bop.fm, SoundWave, and Listn have their own proprietary matching algorithms or use a third party?
I don't know any specifics about how these companies do things, but this part of what they do doesn't seem like it'd be especially hard. The various music service APIs provide ways to search their libraries for a string so you could do a reasonable first stab that way. Youtube's API provides the metadata so as long as the video has accurate metadata you can search on that.DK

Can I submit a short pitch to Producer over Clarity?
Clarity probably is not the best platform for finding a producer. My advice is to reach out to some folks in the TV industry via LinkedIn or Twitter.ZR

What are some audio streaming solutions to monetize audio content?
This will depend heavily on what kind of audio content you're talking about and how you plan to drive awareness for it. Are you talking about a podcast, a heavy metal album, or an ASMR video of you eating ramen? They would all leverage very different platforms and monetization models. I used to run Earbits, a streaming music service backed by Y Combinator and designed to help artists and labels monetize their music. There aren't that many great options out there, but if you want to talk through your specific situation, feel free to touch base.JF
