I have been doing Strategic Planning for the organisations that I have worked in in a simplistic way. My method is very simple, easy to understand and mainly IT PRODUCES RESULTS.
I design and implement Performance Management System (PMS) which is very simple and acceptable to employees, and most important of all the PMS I design works and gives positive results. The PMS is an integral part of the Strategic Plan where the organisations' goals and individuals' goals are interlinked.
I prepare Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Manuals, Instructions and Guidelines which are more graphics oriented and avoid lengthy texts. This way people find it easier to read and understand and makes it more interesting. The number of pages are also lesser. I use the Swim-lane work flow approach which also clarifies the roles, responsibilities and authorities of the individuals/departments.
