During a recent period of unemployment, I fell into a bit of a rut and Mike was able to help me out of it. We worked on a wide range of things, from exploring entrepreneurship, to working on fitness goals, to working through personal relationship issues. Mike's coaching has allowed me to gain a lot of insight about myself, and broadened my perspectives on life. He challenged me to push myself out of my comfort zone, and explore possibilities I would have never considered. I will be starting a career in a new field soon, and I credit Mike with helping me get there.

It was a pleasure working with Mike, and I highly recommend him to anyone who's looking to make impactful changes to their lives.

On the eve of my graduation from MIT Sloan School of Management’s MBA program, I’ve been reflecting on my MBA experience and my trajectory afterwards. Mike’s coaching this year had a very positive influence on me, and I believe it was instrumental in my landing my dream job for after graduation.

I didn’t initially seek out coaching, so I feel fortunate to have found it. I met Mike almost a year ago at a leadership workshop he ran, and I won a free month of coaching. I could see the benefit in our very first session and decided to sign up for 6 months. I thought that my second year of business school, when I would be figuring out what to do next with my life, would be a good time to have someone ask me thoughtful questions and push me to think hard about my next steps.

Mike did just that. He believed in me and encouraged me to believe in myself even more. He pushed me to ask for what I wanted and to expect that I would get it – which I ultimately did! Our weekly calls and my “practice areas” in between gave me accountability to make real progress rather than putting off what was difficult or uncomfortable. We broke large goals into small steps, until I achieved more than I had thought possible. Through his coaching, I came to better understand myself and my ways of interacting with the world around me.

While my initial focus for coaching was around my job search, we also spent some time working on my fitness/weight-loss goals and on a personal relationship I was looking to improve. I made meaningful progress in all these areas, changing my eating habits, working up to bench-pressing my own body-weight, and more. Mike’s techniques and frameworks have continued to help me even after completing these goals.

When I began my MBA, I knew I wanted to transition into an impactful job in the healthcare industry. I wouldn’t have believed at the time that the job I’ve landed was available to me or that I could take such a role without a significant salary sacrifice. Mike helped me see that anything was possible and ask for – perhaps even demand – the opportunity to prove myself to my future boss. In the end, I wrote my own ideal job description at my dream company for a competitive salary. When I tell my peers what I’m doing after graduation and how I got there, they are impressed by my confidence to ask for everything I wanted and thrilled for me that I got it. Mike’s influence made that possible.

I highly recommend Mike and his coaching, whatever possibilities you are looking to unlock!

Michael gave a fantastic career coaching presentation to our international student population at University of Illinois. His simplistic style and easy to understand concept made the presentation easy to follow. He has demonstrated to be very good at what he does, which is to draw connections for students looking for jobs to how to go about getting one.

Michael came to Purdue University this spring for talks on obtaining your dream job. It was a great deal of help and an eye-opening experience in my career search and overall evaluation of who I am as a person. His advice and lessons are not only valuable professionally but also in branching out and experiencing the world. I'd recommend his work to any friend or colleague. Thank you!

It was a pleasure to have Mike visit the University of Illinois campus and present to our international students. The topic of his keynote speech was of critical importance, and his enthusiastic presentation left a positive impression on our students. We look forward to having Mike return to campus for future presentations and workshops.

Taking the class of CultureAdapt by Mike Miller, was the best thing I could do. At a time I did not know how to proceed in my job search, this course thought me how to become successful in different aspects of my job search: networking, interviews, culture differences & job search etiquette. I didn't use to go to cold networking events and talk to people I didn't know, but now I can easily approach someone and maintain an engaging conversation. Also with Mike's tips I went from a LinkedIn dormant user to a LinkedIn butterfly in less than a month (from 99 to 415). Coming from another culture it is great to be able to use a service like CultureAdapt which gives you guidelines to the American culture. Learning about cultural differences will save me so much time & embarrassment instead of figuring it out myself (already experienced this once).

Michael and his team from Culture Adapt delivered a class for our students at Berlitz: "The American Small Talk". It was a delightful, fun and learning experience where our students learned about how to connect and start a conversation with an American.
Michael brings very interesting ideas in this specific topic and gives real life examples of how to succeed when interacting with Americans.
I find this class very useful and fun not only for the international community in Boston but to all of those who are interested in learning how to break the ice when networking.
