I have known Lloyed for almost four years since his first SME Toronto event engagement on the Scientific Research and Experimental Development (SR&ED) program, which he was a subject matter expert and a presenter. (SME is a non-for-profit organization, and its short for Society of Manufacturing Engineers.) The following year, Lloyed joined SME. He was one of the key contributors to SME Toronto’s governance board that planned and steered keynote events for 6000 professionals, over 500 were paid members. Subsequently, he became the director of Marketing for this organization.

During his tenure at SME Toronto, Lloyed made many excellent recommendations and changes to improve the chapter's services to its fellows.
