Lei is a dynamo. He wrote A/B testing, user tracking and a data warehouse (with ad-hoc reports of course) in the first 6 weeks. We learned much about our customers as a result of his efforts. He is a fun, even-tempered co-worker and a skilled mentor. Definitely an asset to any team lucky enough to have him.
As a Senior Manager, Data Insights at Yahoo! Insights Strategy and Marketing Organization I collaborated with Lei on the Yahoo! FrontPage. I was responsible for A/B testing for various parts of Yahoo! Front Page, for which Lei owned the backend development. Lei had the discipline to work toward his vision single-mindedly, as well as to direct his actions and those of the team toward a common goal. Lei would spend whatever time or energy that was necessary to accomplish the task at hand. Lei inspires dedication and he leads by example, doing whatever it takes to complete the next step towards his vision. By setting an excellent example, Lei showed that there are no nine-to-five jobs on the team, only opportunities to achieve something great.
During my work as Director of Engineering, Business Intelligence at Yahoo!. I thoroughly enjoyed collaborating with Lei on various Yahoo Frontpage projects. Lei is very results and solution oriented. He always demonstrates his ability to think outside the box and deliver beyond expectations. In addition, Lei has the remarkable ability to clearly communicate his thoughts. Coupling these skills with his hunger for learning and positive attitude, I look forward to seeing what he can accomplish in the future.
