Crowdfunding Do's and Don'ts From the 1st Fundable Class

You have to think about it backwards: every situation is unique and the fundamentals matter more than ever--regardless of the type of crowdfund. You're still creating, fostering, and delivering on relationships.

I can't tell you more until you tell me about your situation. Just know that as always, the secret is in embracing your unique story, telling it in a compelling way, and engaging your potential supports in a way that is meaningful and rewarding to them.

Consumer Physical Product Design and Commercialization

Learned the hard way (so you don't have to):
- intellectual property (2 patents pending, both in commercial use)
- strategic partnerships and licensing (don't do what I did)
- supply chain integration and fulfillment (making it easy for people to help you toward success by leading with theirs)
- physical design
- prototyping strategies esp. desktop 3D printers (FDM/SLA)
- material selection strategies
- manufacturing (additive and subtractive)
- injection moulding (I have good connections with stateside prototyping toolers and shippers)
- crowdfunding (it's still about the fundamentals)
- defining success in a healthy way (you need to talk to someone who's been there about this)
- surprise me, I like challenge

Defining Success in Your Healthy Way

You really just need to talk to someone who is in it with you. There's no such thing as "been there before" for founders. The same joys, anxieties, fears, and drive exist at all levels and in all projects--they just look different, like YOU!

Celebrate it. I love hearing other peoples stories, and in a selfish way it's usually just as cathartic for me! I'm here if you need someone to listen who gets you.
