With a strategy consulting background in economics and demographics, Joel was number 4 employee and helped launch EatWith (www.eatwith.com). He was instrumental in growing the community to over 100 cities, connecting home cooks and foodies at tables worldwide. He continues to lead and participate in this dining revolution – having hosted almost 1,000 guests at his Barcelona rooftop supper club.
Startups, creating communities, brand curation and other creative projects are his game where he blends professional experience with an entrepreneurial spirit and a scrappy 'whatever it takes' attitude to get things done.
Joel also recently self-published his cookbook 'Papalosophy' (www.papalosophy.com), raising €20.000 on crowdfunding platform, Kickstarter. He used entrepreneurial hacks and scrappy marketing techniques to reach his target without financial or other resources.
Joel regularly speaks at startup conferences and events about his experience launching EatWith, the first service of its kind in the world, and growing a two-sided community in a sustainable and scalable way.
