Joel is a thought leader, visionary and one who can execute. We have collaborated on several projects and his opinion is a major value added. Joel is the kind of guy other marketers go to for help. I definitely recommend him.
Joel is a creative thinker who is at once able to formulate an idea outside of the bounds of implementation feasibility, then translate that idea into an actionable solution to solve a real world problem. A rare talent, Joel combines the right-brained creative skills of a design artist with the execution ability of a technologist and entrepreneur. I hope he and I find a way to work together again.
Joel's expertise in setting vision and motivating people behind it has been a major factor in the culture and direction of creating SproutCamp. His endless desire to help the future of entrepreneurs and start-up companies has helped to diversify not just his portfolio but further help a countless number of startups. His first hand knowledge of the technology industry and the culture of a Start-Up has made him a shoe-in for guest speaking, as well as, more exposure than I know he prefers. I'm excited to be working together on SproutCamp and look forward to many more years of fun and success ahead of us.
Joel is a visionary, dedicated web architect, well familiar with the needs of eCommerce and online business. While he did not report to me, he supported me greatly in a common attempt to drive TUI Travel towards more solid system architecture, transparent project processes and scalable coding practices.
Joel assisted in preparing marketing tools for a private school in the barrier islands of Florida's West Coast. The product was inventive and popular with great representation of the school and the community! I would highly recommend Joel for his professionalism, creativity and personal service.
Past President, Montesori By The Sea
As I worked in a (my) recruiting function my partnering with Joel Serino at TUI Marine. He provided his high energy, innovative, and unmatched creativity spices to his IT/Ecommerce team, that they will not soon forget. Always a positive can-do attitude, smart as a whip, with a flare for pioneering the unknown. His staff loved working for him (I hired them) and his coworkers leaped at the chance to work partner with him. Joel is an outstanding professional in every respect, and, most importantly, a person of exceptionally strong character.
“I worked with Joel on my very first assignment at Asurion – IVR. It’s been 2 years now I have been closely working with him. He carries lot of experience in IVR and Web based applications in terms of technical knowledge, design and business knowledge. Joel has the ability to think out of the box and come up with sophisticated solutions for complex applications. He is a very good team member and always ready to take ownership and responsibility. On personal front, Joel is very supportive and always ready to help”
Joel is a creative thinker who is at once able to formulate an idea outside of the bounds of implementation feasibility, then translate that idea into an actionable solution to solve a real world problem. A rare talent, Joel combines the right-brained creative skills of a design artist with the intent of a technologist. I hope he and I find a way to work together again soon in either a corporate or entrepreneurial setting.
Joel was the business analyst on a major project I managed. He demonstrated a clear understanding of project management and SDLC principles, and functioned as my back-up, in addition to performing his business analysis functions.
Joel used a variety of techniques to draw requirements from the user and illustrate those requirements, to confirm that he understood the needs and was able to get the business owner to commit to them.
I found Joel to be dedicated, thorough, and passionate about the success of the project.
My working with Joel is in relation to his role is creating the web self-service channel for Asurion called phoneclaim.com - also called PCC (which I will use) and eCare within Asurion. First, it's important to note that Joel was one of the chief architects in the creation of PCC. Before Joel there was no PCC.
Secondly, it's also important to note that Joel was the primary person who stood between the business and IT. As someone on the business side, I can say without hesitation that don't even know most of the IT people that worked on PCC - because I didn't have to know that - I just knew Joel.
He does everything I expected him to do well; but the extra things were what distinguished Joel. I didn't expect him to be a great partner with the primary business architect by learning our business and how PCC fit our needs - but he was. I didn't expect him to work closely with the Client Services organization that interacted directly with the wireless carriers (Asurion's clients) to serve their subscribers (Asurion's customers) - but he did.
So for doing all that he was supposed to do so well - and then doing some of the very valuable extra's - I have no reservation in endorsing Joel Serino as a great analyst, designer, and valued colleague.
Joel is a nice guy to work with, he knows exactly what need to be done in his work area, he works in proactive manner, to get done all the work on time. He takes some extra work always in order to make others feel comfortable and can complete their work on time.
