Who to hire to move forward from having an idea only?

1% inspiration and 9% perspiration.
Should you ideas are so fantastic - get someone who believe in you to finance your startup.

Angels suppose to finance ideas into reality. If even all the Angels also not interested - the problem may be the ideas are not attractive enough.

If the above is the case, it is the ideas in question. As you have no fund to bring your ideas into the next step and not sure did you priority which idea to start/ focus, your next steps are to improve ideas + network for potentail management team + impress angels when you are confident to show case your ideas.

You may try to boostrap by inviting people to join you, if they buy your ideas.

Should I invest my money before having clients?

What you need to spend to kick-start - spend.
What you can wait and not mission critical - wait
What you can wait but is mission critical - don't wait

Need to understand the concept of trade-off - if you are very confident that people like what you are doing and you know the customers will increase in a rate that can cover your overheads, you may consider taking the risk to invest. When investment may be huge, ROI may not be appropriate, other calculation methods may be required.

So the question is not "should invest" or "should not invest", the question should be what is the method available to help you to evaluate your investment in your business.

How do I sell language courses without having a fancy, expensive website?

Build your followers in one or two social media.
Promote through there.
Upload quality works to showcase.
A decent offer and an effective solution - your sales will come.

The above is based on the assumptions that you have excellent language courses that can help many people at a very attractive price (provided your competitor is not offering zero cost).

Thus, before we promote the language courses, you need to perform a check on whether the timing, the target customers, the products/ services, minimum finance, etc.

How do you make money to survive while you are building a business? What are some quick ways to make money with less time commitment?

I am working on this with 380+ clients on this challenge, but I put it as 'how to keep the business/ company survive?'.

Making money quickly and maintaining cash flow are part of the surviving process.

A good question with no answer, as different businesses determine surviving differently.

How can I get an NDA for my startup?

Depend what you want to do with it. NDA can be used for many purposes and situations.

Quickest one - go online to get a template and modified from there. You may purchase or search for free for a few templates in different structure to suit your needs. (this provided you are confident to modified by yourself or your colleagues).

If you are not confident of the above, the next option is to pay some money to a legal person to help to produce some (actually s/he also go to Internet to get few and modified for you). If you find getting professional may be too expensive, look for freelance.com, upwork.com, fiverr.com ... for a cheaper one (but quality will depend your luck).

How to make a place in already crowded Business?

When more people sharing the same piece of cake, you need more effort to get a very small share.

This is reflecting on what you trying to do. So if you still want to remain in the crowded market, you should expect you may still survive but cannot make a good profit.

A promising market must show the potential of growth whether it is uncharted, blue market, early stage, growth stage, it will be far more a better market than the crowded market from ROI viewpoint.

Sometimes people stay in a crowded market as there is still sufficient volume to generate decent profit in dollar sense.

So, how to make a place in already crowded business despite knowing the above?
1. increase selling by reducing the price (your competitive advantage left the low-cost advantage).
2. cut down overhead to keep you survive
3. into R&D to develop a unique product that is disruptive enough to turnaround the table in that said market.
4. Most of the competitors are veteran in the market, partner with them, be friendly with them, to explore collaboration for mutual benefits.

Frankly, if giving me a chance, I will look for a promising market to venture.

How can I do a market research?

Your can't do market research if you don't what you want to look for. Ironically, if you don't research how can you realise what you want to have.

This is a chicken or egg come first tale.

You should be making market research and adjusting what you want at the same time. So, the first step is to keep doing it to reach an equivalent stage or trigger point where you know that is the market you are looking for.

The first step can be in many approaches: brainstorm, random picking up words to associate with, start from your mission/ vision, talk to experts, talk to street people ...

When you know roughly what you want, go in depth to study the market (you can search google on how to study a market or call the expert).

Next, develop a hypothesis on the market and test your hypothesis. Once you clear this portion, you have clearer picture what you want to do.

New COO clashing with two most important veteran employees

Almost all my clients have the same issue as yours.
So your challenges are not unique.

While making positive business progress is a wonderful thing, external growth must come with relevant similar pace of internal growth.

It seems that you are using the same old management approach/ style despite your business has grown from 1 or 2 people into current size. It is no more purely a number game now, mismanaging people will lead to loss of knowledge, valuable customer, profits, and growth potential.

Your backyard is having fire currently means your internal support team is having some challenges and you may have uneven growth in some business functions - immediately you should investigate the following areas:
1. Review your management approach/ style and system
2. Review whether you are capable to manage C-level employees.
3. Review your human capital policies and culture diversity
4. Review, whether you have clear/ appropriate a) accountabilities, b) roles and responsibilities, c) committed budget, d) monitoring and control system, e) KPIs, etc
5. Revisit your mission/ vision/ expectations, adjust if necessary.
6. Review workflows and communication models to identify what has triggered the conflict(s).
