Media Product Guy. Specialize on integration of media sites into social media and lean product methodologies for new product development.
Ian has always been a great help to me during the time I spent at Yahoo!. Very knowledgeable and savvy in his field. I had the pleasure of fleshing together two of his Hack Day ideas while at Yahoo!, one of those projects made it through to the top 5. He has always been full of wonderful ideas and its been a great pleasure working with him.
Ian's got great awareness and drive when it comes to pushing things forward. He's resourceful and a great collaborator -- and I'm looking forward to working with him again in the future!
Having been in the tech industry for fifteen years I have worked with dozens, if not hundreds, of product managers. I can say without hesitation that Ian Kennedy is the best product manager I have ever worked with. Even my MyBlogLog co-founder (and previous product manager) has noted how much better of a product person Ian has been for the team.
Ian knows the tech, especially social tech, industry like few others. He is very well connected and respected in the community. He is solid at managing day-to-day operations. And, most importantly, he is incredibly passionate about what he is doing. All of this comes through in everything he does at MyBlogLog.
As I often say, in addition to being an amazing product person, "Ian is an all-around great guy." I can't recommend him highly enough.
Ian is at the forefront of user generated content, jumping head-first into emerging areas for the benefit of his product and company. His past experience connecting searchers and content, helping people create content, and now linking those creators show a general passion for information sharing large and small. Ian is a dedicated and loyal manager who spends his days, evenings, and sometimes weekends living the experience of his key customers and exploring new business opportunities. It's always a pleasure to work with Ian.
Ian is the complete package. He understands techology, user behavior and business needs and is able to execute quickly and efficiently. He's always easy to deal with and is generally ahead of the curve with regard to technology trends. I highly recommend Ian as a business partner.
Ian Kennedy is a global business executive with strong business, information and technology skills. A few of his greatest strengths include his creativity, ability to collaborate with colleagues from diverse backgrounds and tenacity. These professional attributes helped Ian as a leader in sales, as a leader in business development and will help him lead any area of business he becomes passionate about in the future.
Ian had great knowledge in the Japanese market and knew the local culture very well to get acquainted with Japanese business people both on and off business. Made it very easy for us to communicate with a western company.
We brought Ian on board a couple months after being acquired by Yahoo. Shortly afterward, we started shipping new features again. I can think of no higher praise for a product manager.
Ian is a very sharp guy who has spoken at several of the social networking and Web 2.0 events i've put together in the past. He's both knowledgeable & fun to hang out with, and can tell some amazing stories about the early days of the Internet in Japan. thumbs up :)
Ian is wonderful at communicating complex ideas and also at listening to develop marketable products. During his time as Senior Product Manager for Factiva, he was persistent in getting products developed which met customer needs. He was able to bring together many groups with different requirements to get things done.
ian's great. he clearly understands where the internet is headed and more importantly how to get there from here. and, he's just a wonderful human being.
